On my 2008 Durango, the "fuel tank filler tube inlet check valve" has stopped working. This is the same problem that Dodge recalled some 2005 Durangos for in 2009 (NHTSA campaign #09V003000) at each fill-up, no matter what gas station, when the tank is filled up, and immediately after the pump automatically shuts off - a large amount (1 gal or so) of gas literally "spews" from the gas tank for the next 5 to 10 seconds. This gas will spray the person pumping the gas, as well as the vehicle and surrounding area. This is a significant safety hazard, from multiple perspectives. Dodge has claimed that the 2008 models are not covered under the same recall, but the same exact problem is present. Therefore a new, expanded recall should be issued.
