Yesterday, while on my way to work, with my children in the car, I went to make left hand turn on a steady green light (not the arrow). In the middle of my turn, the steering wheel locked up and my car cut off. I wasn't able to complete the turn and ended up stuck in the middle of the road with oncoming traffic coming towards me. I immediately started honking my horn and flashing my blinkers so the oncoming cars would know I couldn't get out of the way. The lights on the dash started flashing: the oil light, the ABS light and some other lights that I can't remember. I couldn't turn the wheel and the key wouldn't turn either. I was stuck. It felt like an eternity sitting in oncoming traffic with cars swerving around me and honking at me, but it was probably 45 seconds. Then, the lights stopped flashing and I was finally able to turn the car off and restart it. I was able to get it into the parking lot of the school and call my husband. I am too scared to drive it now.
