Durango Durango 5.7L Hemi

  • Automatic transmission
  • 132,000 miles

While driving check engine light started flashing. OBD code indicated misfire cylinder #8. Diagnosed by dealer as worn camshaft due to failed lifters. Originally quoted $4,700 to repair, then told Dodge recommends no repair as work would not be warrantied due to possibility of metal shavings in engine. Then told only option was to replace engine for $10,000.
