Durango Citadel 5.7L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 114,000 miles

On top of the low light flashing, and the vehicle putting itself into low, it now decided to completely shut itself off just before making a left turn. No power steering, no nothing. I pulled over, put it in park and then it started again.

On 10/10/2016 the car odometer was 135,000 km , noted its hard to start , have to try for several time till it start , went to the dealer , they changed that fuel pump under extended warranty ,

in 05/2017 (less than a year and odometer 153,000 kg , less than 20 K km) While driving for 400 km trip , it was about 160 k to reach the destination , felt a hesitation , stopped the car and shut of the engine to check if it is okay to continue driving, but it wont start ,...

was having a doubt that it may be something related to to the recent repair to fix the common 5.7 Hemi Engine ticking ad the dealer shop , but also was thinking about the fuel pump as it crank smoothly and act like no fuel , so was suspecting the Fuel pump ,....

Tried to inspect the External relay ( the fix of the TIPM Fuel Pump Relay Recall )visibly but all look to be fine ,..

loaded the car on Faltbed truck to the dealer they changed the fuel pump again under ( mopar part warranty 1year/20k km ) and said if if failed again they will not fix it under warranty !!! so they revoke the warranty of the latest fuel pump installed .

i wonder how the flue pump fail 2 times one of them in less than a year/20K km ,

why do they revoke the warranty of the second one installed !!! *

why Dont they do better one why Dont they recall it why Dont they put a spare/backup one that work in case of the first fail.

the wonder is clear now why the original warranty was only 3 Years rather than 5 as most of the car makers are offering ,

i would prefer not to own it a day beyond the warranty expiration Date. or better not to have it at all,

Wish the Best Luck for your guys

To add insult to injury, the advisers at the dealership are not always cooperative as you state that your car is stalling at random while out and about; I was unaware of this issue til researching post repair battle to even have someone/anyone address what was really happening with yet another visit for this defective vehicle. Stated had extended warranty stated would not cover. I stated I believe I will phone myself for verification-done, paid deductible but had to rent a car due to the long drawn out dilemma in finding out what the problem was thereafter just waiting for the part to come in. I was told upon driving away per service adviser: "You should go buy a Honda". I should have took it and traded it in that day! The day after as I was leaving for work started the ignition as I was driving out of my garage, it shuts off midst the garage-I had to call a tow truck, get a rental, and notify the dealership that this truck would be returning to their shop A.S.A.P while trying to not be once again late for work.

fuel pump failure

At 52,000 Miles, my Durango would suddenly not start. I purchased the vehicle with 49,000 miles on it and owned it about 60 days. I had traded in an old Grand Cherokee which never let me down but was getting ragged with 220,000mi on it. I thought I would be good to go for several years. Well, that wasn't the case- my new Durango left me stranded. It is a great SUV otherwise. I called the dealership who of course wanted a fortune and acted like they had never once heard of this. I went online, and wow, there are thousands and thousands of other people with the same problem. I did find a fix. A company 10 miles from me repaired my TIPM for $269:

I think this is a safety issue that needs to be fixed immediately. I called Chrysler who said they couldn't give me any information about it at all since there was no recall. It makes absolutely no sense that they would recall the 2011 and not the 2012 since they both have the identical problem. I see that attorneys are already out and waiting for someone to get hurt like this one http://www.davidazizipersonalinjury.com/tipm/. Is this is what it will take for it to get recalled? Someone getting hurt or killed on the freeway? wth?

Dodge, you are completely ruining your reputation by not fixing this. Until the 2011 Durango came out I would have never considered one of your vehicles. Here is a nice car, and you won't stand behind it. From what I understand the actual parts that get replaced, in bulk, cost Dodge under $1.50. Quit dodging the problem.

Durango SL 3.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 45,100 miles

For the past 3 weeks the car wouldn't start immediately so I would have to repeatedly try to turn the ignition until the car would turn on. Until 4 days ago the car wouldn't start at all, after searching online about what the problem was I came across a recall on the fuel pump on the Dodge Durango 2012... I took the car to the dealer and now they are telling me that there is no recall on my car... (But I do have a bad fuel pump) They are telling me to pay for the damage and maybe in the future if there is recall on my specific Vin number I can get reimbursed. This is my first time buying a Dodge and it will be the last... There is a class action law suit..... ABC news and Washington Post reported the recall and they still refused to fix my car.
