I've had a few recalls on the truck. Several listed wiring. They've all been 'corrected' or checked by a dealer. My truck caught fire and burned all the electrical under the hood today. Less than a month since the 'electrical' recall was supposedly repaired. It was stopped but running at a gas station after a short 3 minute drive.

While parked in our driveway with the vehicle off, my wife opened the rear liftgate using the exterior latch handle. The liftgate raised to the open position automatically, but then slammed shut without warning. When the pneumatic strut that holds the liftgate open failed, the entire weight of the liftgate landed on my wife's head, who was reaching into the trunk to remove its contents.

The contact owns a 2013 Dodge Durango. The contact stated that there was premature exposure near the underbody of the vehicle close to the wiring. Also, the emissions hose was eaten through by rodents. The parts were replaced once, but the failure recurred. The dealer replaced the emissions hose a second time months later, but the rodents chewed through the part again. The manufacturer was notified of the failures and advised that the dealer replace the part. The VIN was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000.

The passenger side wheel well molding detached and flew off while driving. The truck was returned to the dealer for service after waiting for 2 hours I was advised the part would need to be ordered and would be covered under warranty. I returned to the dealer when the part was in, told the part was at another shop and I would have to wait until it was picked up. Waited for an additional 2 hours and was told by a service adviser that the part was damaged and they would need to order another one, again I was advised that the part would be covered. Waited an additional 3 weeks and returned to have the part installed, was called by a different service adviser and told that the repair would not be covered under warranty because there was a mark on the bumper that looked like the bumper was pulled off by an outside force. I explained that the mark on the bumper occurred a year before the incident and still had to pay $249 for a part that I was originally was told would be covered under warranty.
