Dodge needs to take responsibility for sending out faulty lights for years and they need to offer a replacement for all impacted vehicles. This has been a known issue and they refuse to admit fault on their cheap workmanship in these racetrack taillights. Hell, even their hoods are rusting at just 3 years old.

Racetrack tailight on tail gate is allowing water egress. Not too long afterwards, the light goes out. I have not brought this to the dealer but I know it is a $1200 cdn part that will likely cost a couple hundred to reinstall. 3 year old car and a $1200 dollar taillight goes just after leaving the warranty period. I'd say my chances are slim to none to get this fixed on anyone else's dime but my own.
Chrysler knows about this, this is minor compared to the price of the car. Do you think I'd buy another Dodge? Not likely, if this isn't a warranty item.

Rear Tailight is not sealed and fills up with water which fails light. This is a terrible design that Dodge FCA engineers should be embarrassed about. They should recall as many have this problem. It sounds like it is easy to fix with updated design with better sealing and draining. Also it is a safety concern as it causes taillights to stop working which are important for rear visibility especially in winter.
Even the mechanic at Dodge dealer said this happens to all Durangos and he is surprised they have not fixed it. Light is across back as one large unit including camera so is expensive. Dodge dealer told me $1754 for light + install. I have tried contacting Dodge and the dealer with my concerns on this and am waiting to see if they do anything. If they hide from a problem like this I will look to change our family fleet of vehicles from Dodge to the competition.

I purchased this vehicle in October of 2019 and noticed the water in June of 2020 and now my light is blown on the left side. The cost of a new one is unreasonable when you are paying a car note and insurance.
