2018 Dodge Durango with 48,000 miles. Rear taillights fill with water. (also known as the racetrack light). The taillight assemblly will fill with water from rain water or a simple car wash. This causes the rear taillight to flicker on and off or burn out completely. This is an on going issue with the 2014 and newer Durango. This is a design flaw from Dodge and they will not cover it and make it right. Dodge has also not updated this design to improve it either. After replacement it will only be a matter of time before it will do it again. This is a big safety issue and there should be a recall on this poorly designed part. Then on top of it, the local Dodge dealer will charge you $1200 for a new one. I attached some pictures. I also took video of the water draining out of the tailgate and taillights flickering on and off but couldn't upload them.

I was driving down the highway when I heard a loud noise. I looked in my mirrors and saw a piece of my car in the mirror. It was the plastic piece off my door. I couldn't stop being on the highway lucky that it didn't hit another vehicle. I took it to the dealership, sam leman in morton Illinois where I was told this happens with Durangos, being blowed off. To me this is a safety hazard to other vehicles, especially if a motorcycle was behind me. I have had issues with lack of care from the dealership, but other than that, this should be recalled from Dodge as it could have caused an accident.

I was in a collision, going 70 on the expressway. Guy in front of me slammed on his breaks with no one in front of him. I had no time to stop, slammed into the back of his car. Not a single airbag deployed inside the vehicle, the whole front end was smashed in.
