THE ONLY REASON I AM WRITTING THIS INFO IS, I TOOK THE VAN INTO A LOCAL DODGE DEALERSHIP, TO HAVE IT CHECKED UNDER A S'POSED WARRANTY, AND THE EMPLOYEE TOLD ME:
''IF THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS 'ON', IT WILL NEVER DEPLOY''.
HMMMMM.... THAT SOUNDED QUESTIONABLE....
~AND, IN FACT, IT IS NOT TRUE ACCORDING TO THIS SITE(S) INFO!!
JUST A HEADS UP FOR SOMEONE ELSE WHO WAS GIVEN FALSE INFO...AND ALSO TOLD IT WAS 'ALREADY FIXED'!!!!!!!

The airbag light came on when I turned on the rear wipers {which didn't come on}. It stayed on until I turned off the engine.

I noticed on day that the airbag light was on and the rear windshield wipers didn't work. I thought that they were totally unrelated to each other. I brought the car into the mechanic's to see why the airbag light was on. They couldn't figure out why. Later on I thought maybe the reason that the rear wiper wasn't working was because the fuse was blown. So I went to the auto store and picked up a fuse for about 5 dollars. I looked up in the owners manual which one that I had to replace and replaced it. Bingo the rear wiper worked. And lone behold the airbag light went off to. I looked in the owner's manual and it said that the rear wiper and the airbag were on the same fuse. It was as easy as that. I don't know the mechanic didn't try replacing the fuse.
