I bought the car used and found receipt in the glove box where the transmission had been rebuilt a few months before I bought it at a national transmission shop, and in about a year had to have the transmission rebuilt about 1300 dollars to a regional transmission shop, then at almost exactly one week after the 1 yr 12000 mile warranty ran out it seized up while on the highway, just started jerking and the check engine light came on and I barely got it home. Hubby said take it to that national transmission shop, get it rebuilt and buy the lifetime warranty. 2200 dollars including warranty. Done. Took it in every year faithfully to have it checked to keep the warranty people happy. Three years later it seized up on the freeway on the way to work, I thought no problem, I have the LIFETIME warranty. Get it towed to the shop and they start asking where the paperwork (RO's) are. What? Everytime I took it in I was told there were no receipts given for warranty work. Well they finally rebuilt it again under warranty, but I think the shop had to eat the expense because the shop where the warranty had been purchased was gone.

I love this vehicle, it is absolutely the most comfortable thing I have ever driven. It's been to California and back from Texas twice since I've owned it. But I would not recommend this vehicle to anyone I love, and I most likely will not purchase a Dodge product ever again. It has also had many many A/C problems.

Dodge Grand Caravan Vehicles SUCK ASS!!! I haven't had this friggin' van for one year yet and already has costed me well over $600.00 to fix!! First it was the radiator, then the water pump, the seals around the fuel system, my wipers don't work (only when they want to) and the driver side tail light doesn't work (no, it's not the bulb) Oil is leaking now from the motor and Now the piece of sh*t Transmission is going out! I got stuck having to drive 20 miles in 2nd. gear on a highway!!!!!To make matters worse, I take it to a mechanic and it's gonna cost well over a thousand bucks to fix!What kinda sh*t is that? It's not like I drive a million miles a day, I only go about 50 miles a day and the van sits in the drive way damned near all day except for 2 hours.

I don't know you and you don't know me. The problems I have with this vehicle are my own. From one person to another I say to you, "avoid buying this type of vehicle at all costs! A family has alot on it's plate as it is and this vehicle will just destroy you financially!!" I'm saying that lightly, I was almost killed because of the Transmission failing on me on the highway. Had I known then what I know now, believe me I'd have bought a better vehicle. NOw it sits in the driveway as a reminder of how 27 hundred bucks went down the drain. I think I'll turn it into a damn flower pot or something!

I was driving down the street one day last week, during work of course, and my engine stalled out on me. I tried numerous times to restart the bastard, but to no avail. I get out of the van, walk around the front, and i am almost knee deep in tranny oil! (appeared as tho it were motor oil) Needless to say, I had to call a tow truck. (It's nice to have friends in the business)

I have the van towed up to my brothers' pole building and start ripping the thing apart. At first i thought that i had spun a bearing some how. I dropped the motor oil pan, no probs. Then i look towards the tranny, and i see little pieces of shrapnel behind the flywheel plate. DAMMIT!

I then drew my atttention to the tranny. I FINALLY got the sucker out and had it on the ground. HOLY HELL! There is a hole the size of a giant softball in the bell housing. I peer through the hole, and what do i see? It appears as tho the friggin spider gears blew apart and tore a GODDAM hole through the housing! SH*T!

I call up the dealer where i had bought it from used, this time a year ago, and he claims that there are no known recurring problems with these transmissions and that he cant do anything about it, except recommend buying a "newly" rebuilt one from THEM. What a f*cking liar! I did a search on the net and came up with about 120 pages worth of complaints about these trannys! And buy another peice of sh*t tranny from them! Get the hell out! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr I am still in the process of searching for a replacement tranny, which will cost me in excess of $1300 due to the fact that I no longer have a core to trade.

Never EVER again will i purchase a Chrysler product with this transmission. Better yet, they can go screw themselves if they think that i am buying ANY Chrysler product agian in the future.

Other problems with this vehicle include(but not limited to): Replaced the EGR valve and soleniod at 75,000 miles, Constantly recurring warped rotors and sticking calipers(thank god i have lifetime warranty pads), AND trying to find friggin floor mats in MIST GRAY with quad seating is just plain STUPID! That's IT!
