Grand Caravan 3.3L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 4,000 miles

Having owned this vehicle since 1999, that the general manager was using personally at the Dodge dealership, let me take because it had all the options I wanted. I believe this defect was built into the vehicle from day one!?!? I've owned many vehicles in my life, now age 63, and never ever have I seen this area of the suspension rusted and rotted out like this? And being retired on a fixed income and having only 122,000+ well maintained with all the service required. I expected to safely drive this vehicle? But have been told and I agree that my Van now is unsafe to drive at any speed.

Unless repaired, my main concern is there are thousands of these Dodge Caravans on the road with our most valuable things on board our CHILDREN and now my Grandson. And my daughter has said that even if repaired? Her Son my Grandson will never be allowed to ride in. Hello Chrysler have you seen what's going on at GM for ignoring a serious defect that has caused loss of life!! If even 1 person is injured or killed by ignoring this known defect, especially a child will do far more damage to this company, that could ever be imagined!

this problem is common in the midwest. chrysler makes a repair kit . it should be covered under warranty or a recall. repair estimate is $500.00 . being retired i cant afford to put more money in this junk
