So now neither sliding door works. I have to let my kids out in traffic to walk in front of the van to get to the sidewalk at school....meanwhile no other parents are watching for my kids exiting my vehicle. The kids can't exit on the passenger side, as that door has to be manually SLAMMED closed hard by me (kids can't get it to close) and it has opened while driving. (Hello, not safe...)
The driver side door will allow us to manually close it, but again, this is a major pain and I do miss the automatic opening and closing of the doors. I only have 72,700 miles on this van and it has to last me....a long while yet.

Broke for the third time. With the extended warranty expired, I cannot afford to fix.

Broke less than 6 months after being fixed. Seems to be a consistent issue with these vans.

Rt power door only opens about 6 inches and +stopped. if you hit open button again, second time it opens all the way. left sliding door lock button will not work at all . Called dodge dealer and there telling me it will cost several hundred dollars to fix . This vehicle only has 40,000 miles , with a extended warr till july 2012. What a horrible dealer , and company dodge is. Time to buy something else .

slightly annoying but its only 1 door so i don't worry much about it. its a convenience anyways, not a necessity

This car is 5 years old. I will NEVER EVER buy another piece of junk dodge. The door stopped being able to open automatically but for a few weeks could be open and closed manually. Now if it gets opened all the way it you have to pull on this little cord in the door to close it. I HATE, HATE, HATE this van.

Couple of weeks back I faced an absolute similiar problem as reported by several others regarding the complete power failure on sliding doors. Neither remote control keys, nor overhead console keys were working. Additionally check engine light came up too. I came to this forum and found the recommendation of fuse or battery disconnect for some time to resolve this issue however appears like a temporary fix.
One thing that striked me as a repeat pattern in all complaints was that there was no complaint within year 2005 or immediately afterwards. Mostly complaint dates were of recent years or atleast 2 to 3 years after this model came on road so I suspected if weaker battery could be the cause.
I got my battery replaced immediately and guess what - all electricals are working perfectly again. Doors are automatically sliding on/off. Remote is working fine. Two weeks have already passed so I think my problem is resolved. I will recommend this fix to any one who is facing this issue prior to going to dealer and spending money on flashing or replacing the Body Control Module.

The dealer told us it would cost us $400.00.That is a lot of money, when we have taken very good care of our van.All in general,it has been a good dependable van,Just how do things like that break when they are not abused.?It don' make since..........

Door stopped working under warranty. Dealer "fixed" the problem. Same problem occurred after the warranty expired. Would be over $200 to fix. I fixed it myself. A wire in the power harness was broken. I found the break, soldered the wire, taped it back and it has worked ever since.

The electrical problems in this Caravan is really annoying. Maybe every 2 months I have some kind of problem.

The passenger side automatic sliding door only travels half way before stopping. I cannot see any obstructions in the track. I'm thinking there may be some sort of sensor that is malfunctioning but I'm not sure. Anyone got any suggetions?

drier side power door would open half way and then close again. door was very stiff too open manual.dodge replaced door motor under warranty

Passenger side sliding door will not open or close under power. The latch will pop open but then the door will not open. This happens when the temp is below 40. Took it to the dealer in December and the temp was 50 worked great, as soon as the temp dropped again it quit working. It started at the end of last winter, but we thought it was a fluke since it works when it gets warm.

had to have sliding doors re programmed Several times after having the vehicle only a few months
ended up putting new motors in it & several more new programs - costing hundreds of dollars in deductibles!!!

Within the past month this occurred 3 times. the electrical went out on the sliding door, windshield wipers would not work inside dash lighting was out and the electric sliding door and electric lock would not work. Each time it re-set itself and everything was fine.
I also just had to get a new battery 3 weeks ago.
I went to auto zone today and they checked the code for electronic failure. They said there is definitely a short somewhere and I should go to the Dodge dealer to have it fixed.
Is this sound advice? thanks

This is my first Dodge product and will be the last. I have had issues with it since bought (used). Dealership is awful. Yes, like everyone else my door lock are not working properly and sliding side doors are broke along with the rear hatch assembly. All has happened within a year of having the van. Not what I would call dependable.

Van was only two years old. Dealer wanted to replace the control module under the dash at a cost of over $500. Since the van had more than 36K miles it was not covered under warranty. I just don't understand the correlation's between driving miles and the door locks not working.

The problem comes and goes. One minute it will work and the next minute it wont open using the key fob or the over head console button. I believe this is a product of a larger problem. Today my blinkers stopped working for a short time too. When I lock the doors the horn honks even if I only push the button once (it use to take two pushes to make it honk).
I replaced the battery and now my yellow check engine light has come out too. I'm about ready to give up on this thing.

Again, I am having a problem with my sliding doors. Last year, 1 of the doors was fixed for this same problem. Randomly the doors will reopen when you are trying to close them. The dealer had the van for 2 days and said they can not duplicate my complaint so they will not replace anything. My warranty ends in 9 months and I am worried this problem will drag on until I am responsible to pay for repairs!

I would periodically repair individual wires as they broke until the whole harness was too far gone. I finally bought a new harness off amazon for about $80 and haven't had a problem since.
