This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Dodge dealer.
This caused my ABS to not work due to a bad speed sensor. This should be a recall item as it negates a safety feature of this van.

second time left real wheel speed sensor has been replaced under warranty -- first time
was at 6K miles -- see follow up report -- had to replace left rear wheel speed sensor for
a 3rd time at 53K miles

seems odd sensor would fail after only 6800 miles but stuff happens I guess...
but wait -- see follow up complaints -- replaced again at 20K and 3rd time at 53K!
always left rear wheel speed sensor...

after having the left rear wheel speed sensor replaced twice under warranty at 6K and 20K miles, the same one has failed a third time! my independent mechanic couldn't pull the code as the ABS codes are not published so I was forced to go to the dealer. The repair guy came out and told me it was the left rear wheel speed sensor in less than ten minutes and the car was ready to go in about an hour -- the charge, $244.76 -- 2 hours labor @$96/hr, $34.30+$3.10 tax for the part, and $15.36 "shop charge" When I questioned the labor, I was told "sorry, it's flat rate -- we have to charge 2 hours..." That's fine -- I'll have to go somewhere else next time. Crooks.

I have two 2005 Dodge Grand Caravans, one has 123,000 kms and the other has 81,000 kms. Both have ABS lights on. I have had tow shops working for the last 2 days trying to fix this problem. We have changed ABS controllers, fuse panels under the hood, both rear wheel sensors, we have fixed corrosion on some of the wires, etc. The one with 81,000 kms can probably be fixed with a new fuse panel(underhood) and one wire plug-in for the rear ABS sensor, the dealer will not sell a wire plug-in but they will sell me a complete harness for $1000.00. What a friggin joke!!!! I have called around to some of the other shops and they all have wished me luck fixing my van, apparently this is a very very common problem with Dodge vans and a very hard fix as well. So I called my friend who is the head mechanic at our local Chrysler dealer and he also laughed at me and said good luck, he said they could probably fix the problem but by the sounds of what I had already done I could be looking at a $2000.00-$2500.00 fix, you have got to be kidding. Chrysler has sold me the last piece of junk I will ever buy from them. They have a major problem with their vans and they do not know how to repair them as well...what a joke.....:>(

ABS light on. It can only be fixed at the dealership per 2 other mechanics. So I have to go to the locatl dealership who does not return phone calls. Does not rspond to emails. I just know this is going to cost a bunch or they will try to sell me a new car from a dealership that I want nothing to do with. Great.

ABS light on, ADD FLUID. The light stays on a couple of minutes then goes off. Cant take it to the shop because by then it is off. Our dealer must not check fluid levels, but I have a brake fluid sensor now.

The ABS light came on; no other problem was obvious. Took the car to the dealer who pulled codes and said the right front speed sensor and the ABS controller were bad and had to be replaced. I never had a problem stopping. I never had a problem with the speedometer. But being concerned about possible braking problems when I was planning a trip, I okayed the repair. The car is just over 4 years old with only 29000 miles on it. The dealer charged me $1004.47 for this. I don't think the car should have had this problem and I certainly don't think it should have cost this much to repair.

Was working fine in the snow, turned off the car to go to the store, now, it is not working.

When the ABS light comes on it also took out the Trak capability. Trak was automatically turned off after the sensor light came on. The real problem I had with this is that only 2 months earlier I had to get both front calipers replaced because one fully seized up and the other one seized on the inside piston. That was about a $1000 charge. I don't know exactly where this sensor sits but i would figure it to be on or very near the caliper that it needs to check. If you replace anything on the brake system would you not verify that all of the parts in the system are functioning to spec. I also found out that my 2005 van has the calipers from the 2006 model year. This seemed to cause a little confusion for the non-dealer repair shop who ordered the wrong part twice before checking the number on the caliper.

The ABS light and the break light is on,, I have been told that it's the wheel speed sensor.. To me something this old should be cover under a recall, I have been told that lots of them have this problem!! I wish I knew where to go that could help me!!The lights are annoying and I;m sure is dangerous to have problems with something like this!!!!

ABS light has been on & off intermittently for a few weeks. If ABS light is NOT on when I immediately start the vehicle, the ABS will pump at random times when I hit the brake and then the ABS light will usually come on.
Brought the van in for an oil change and asked them to diagnose the problem - right wheel speed sensor. Approx. $275 to fix. Van is being fixed as I type this.
