There is a kind of whiney grinding like sound under the hood in the belt area. Have replaced belt, water pump, alternator, and tension-er. It does this without turning the wheel, and even in park. No leaks. I am at a loss as to what in the world it is. Doesn't seem to be anything else to change except I see some people have had a problem with the Rack n pinion box. But it doesn't matter if the car has just started or run for a while the noise is still there. It has been going on for months now. I just turn up the radio. Would be nice if Dodge could give us some idea as to what to do on these steering area noises. They have a good product. I got mine with 87,000 miles on it and now have 219,648 miles on it. I use it as a taxi and it has made me money, but this noise kind of drives me nuts when I can't have the radio turned up. Embarrassing that my passengers must hear it as well. Not good PR for my taxi company OR DODGE!
