back window shattered for no reason back window shattered for no reason back window shattered for no reason

It was very frustrating to come out in the morning to find my back window shattered and blown out. The back window is cracked and glass broken off in every corner, not to mention the giant hole in it. It is all shattered on the inside. I have never seen anything like this before. I'm just grateful I was not driving with my kids in the van when it happened.

I shut the hatch in my van and the back window shattered it sounded like it exploded. There is glass all through the rear department and all over the ground behind the van. I have never seen anything like this. I am thankful that my children were not standing with me cause they could have been seriously injured. I think the dodge dealers should check into this and have a recall and fix this problem before someone gets seriously hurt or killed!!!!!

This is the 2nd time in 3 years that the back windshield has blown out by itself.

There's got to be some kind of defect here.

While parked in a secure area, after walking around vehicle, I closed the driver's door and the rear window shattered with an explosive sound and sent shards of glass all over the rear compartment. There was no damage to the window prior to the sudden failure, however...

I was rear ended this summer and (supposedly) - the rear lift gate was replaced but they saved the window and installed it upon the new lift gate.

Side note - Anderson Dodge in Rockford Illinois was where the vehicle was "repaired". I have had to return there 4 times now for this event, and this makes the 5th time. I remarked to the Manager there, (Bob), how their lack of attention to detail was frightening, and reminded him of such when I took the vehicle to the dealership to complain about their obvious mistake installing the window.

Until they redesign or repair the obvious fault in this area ( this statement made hindsight after researching this recurring problem online today), I would NOT suggest purchasing this vehicle, or any of it's newer offspring, as they ALL have this problem, especially during the transition period from freezing to warming with uneven glass temperature, such as sun shining on only part of the window.

This car has been the biggest piece of junk don't buy one! The window just spontaneously shattered for no known reason. The outside temp was over 32 degrees. Our 25 year old car has less problems
