About 1 year ago my GAS CAP message came up on the van. Scratched my head and though ok buy a new cap and clean the code. Did those things for it to come back on, so said skew it and left it. Check engine light then came on. Don't remember the code but it coincided with the gas cap message. So I did some research and concluded the next cheapest thing to replace that may solve it is the Fuel Filler neck. So I replaced it and cleared the code and guess what…. it came back on but without the check engine light.
Today is almost 1 year later and brought it in again and they did the smoke test. Smoke test did not show any leaks. Asking the tech, "What else it could be?", he had no clue why it was still coming up and I asked if it would be possible if it could be a sensor. He said no.
So now this one is to you DODGE…. WTF is the message still coming up for? I have replaced the gas cap 3 times in hopes the one I got was defective and no solution. Even the techs can't figure it out. Can I disable the message somehow permanently?
