Evidently this rear AC is a common problem with the 2007 caravans per a mechanic I spoke to a month ago. Now it is really hot in MN, and I need my AC, but am facing a $1000 bill to get it fixed, not just $130 to replace the freon. Can I fix it myself? Order the rear evaporator core? Anybody know of somewhere I can get it done for less?

I went to a garage and at the very same time another owner of a 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan was there for the same problem. I live in a rural area and who would guess that two vehicles on the same day with the same problem. This is wrong. Due to it having dual air (front and back) this is even more expensive to fix. It is summer and we were heading to the beach in 3 weeks. I cant afford this and I am miserable driving to work 25 minutes away. When I do get this fixed, I will be even more miserable paying this bill. I think we need a recall here.
