This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Dodge dealer.
The placard on the window when we got the car said it had a lifetime warranty on the power train but Chrysler would not stand behind it because we leased the car originally and bought it at the end of the lease. They said we were not the original owner. My husband worked for Chrysler and always leased his cars from Chrysler all his life. We got this one in 2008 and bought it in Jan 2010 and he died in December 2010. Now the car is in my name and therefore I was not the original owner.
Sounds like a pretty poor way to do business to me. Anyway, I ended up paying to put a rebuilt transmission in the car.

I have never in my life had a car with so many problems!

I feel as though a vehicle that is only 3 years old shouldn't need the air conditioner hose replaced. I have researched this problem on the internet and this seems to be a problem with this model, and should be a recall.

Hose had to be replaced...labor was over $350 to replace a $71 hose...this was just ONE of a myriad of problems I have had with my car starting at around 12k miles and 8 months old...Of course Dodge refused to cover it due to being over 36,000 miles..

Took it in and it was covered under warranty. They purged and then recharged the system with freon as well. A few months letter got a letter from Chrysler Canada and they had a recall notice about the hose breaking and for people to come in and get it fixed. Good to see they noticed the problem and took the bull by the horns and started a recall.

My ac would lose the charge and only blow out cool air days after being fully charged....there was a leak in the compressor to condenser high side hose. Chrysler knows this is a problem, they even redesigned the hose because they keep cracking, but they won't do a recall. The new hose is to long...it bend amf the gas can not get throw

The mechanic told me that "the part had been redesigned so that it would not fail again". While not a safety recall, knowing that you have an engineering flaw and not issuing a recall, but rather making customers pay for the fix, is unacceptable in my book.
