This is the THIRD time the electric ignition has died!! THIRD time THREE Years!, Actually less than three. I bought it used from Enterprise. I was under emotional distress and they conned me fast when I rented because my engine blew in my previous 99 Dodge Van. On December 24, 2010 the electric ignition died after I put gas in at a Get Go. Yes, that's Christmas Eve, at 5:00pm!! A deal insisted the electrical "panel" had to be replaced! I replaced it. The electric locks started to die out as time went on. Then the drivers electric door lock would not allow the door to be closed! Tied it and drove it to a mechanic. Of course the warranty on the panel was "expired."
May 2013-- Left Dennys after dinner, the key fob would not turn. The key fob would not come back out! I had the W.I.N. replaced-electric ignition system. Not even 3 months later--- August 5, 2013 I shut off the van at the License Bureau. I try to turn it back on to roll the windows up---and--- the fob won't turn! A Mechanic across the street comes, checks the key, confirms it is THE ELECTRIC IGNITION.
Okay, I had a NEW electric "panel" put in at a DODGE dealership in 2010! They told me "it is rare." Then that "new" panel died out!? May 2013 I had a "new" dealer W.I.N. put in and it died in less than THREE MONTHS!?
I have it at yet another Dealership. I am still waiting on the price "damage". If it is the WIN parts they are under warranty--- labor is not. Neither is the TOW, neither is RENTING a car for 3 days and counting...
THIS HAS to be a vehicle design flaw!!! I started a formal complaint with Dodge Corporate. Yes, each time the mechanic checked for recalls--but my van never fit the situation. Also, Dodge had not updated my address in 6 years!!!! I found out.

I originally thought my key just needed a new battery. Got a new battery and 3 months later my key was still not working right. Took it in again and they tested the battery. The battery is fine, it's the key fob. Not happy. I have two keys that don't work. Cost $200 each to fix! Now I can't drive my van until I get my keys fixed. On top of that, if I can't get my van to the dealership, I have to pay a towing fee!

Key does not start minivan and a Jump start didn't help either. A battery charger indicated that it has 14V. The car is still dead and can't move at all since Shift is locked in Park and Minivan is in the garage making very difficult to reach and open the hood. I suspect that the wireless key is not being detected correctly and is leaving the vehicle dead.

door locks still not always working, heater not working and winter..
Van wont start if left for more than 1 or 2 days and remote car starter not working most days - this was installed by DODGE.

Van wouldn't start. Thought it was dead battery. Towed to garage. Van started next day without any clue what problem may have been. I have been advised there is a dead mans switch that tells the ignition that the transmission is still in gear. This will not allow the engine to turn over. Towing it to the garage may have triggered the switch to it's proper position. It sucks cause the vehicle was 225 miles from home and unexpected travel was incurred to retrieve the vehicle.

The key do not start the engine. nothing is worn with the engine but for some reazon the key do not work with the start, I had to reset the key and set up again, the dealer charge 50.00 to do that even I explain to them is a factory prblem they do not lisent to me, they said if I want to take in the Dodge Caravan in the dealer shop they will charge more money just to see the problem, because I am the second owner they said the warranty only covers the firt's owner.
