This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Dodge dealer.
I have owned this vehicle since 2010. I have had to replace the brakes at least 4 times. My brake repairs today are the same ones I made 1 year, 5 days ago (so not under warranty...ugh!).
This thing is rusting so badly, the only part of the vehicle that is not rusting that could is the rear door that I had to have replaced in 2012 after being rear ended. I have a massive rust hole over the rear driver tire wheel that I am not allowed to go through the car wash unless it is covered in duct tape. I had to replace all of the wheels because of rust and corrosion.
My husband drives a 2002 Buick with ZERO rust. I'm so upset with this car. It has been in the shop for various issues over 20 times between June 2015 and June 2016 and towed twice. I'm NEVER buying another Dodge.

For 30 years, out of all the vehicles I have ever owned, this has been the most costly. During the 6 years that I owned it, I wasted countless hours and thousands of dollars on the repairs. The repairs vary anywhere from brakes, sensors, ignition switch, hydraulic system leakage, automatic transmission gear lever belt, and even premature rusting, and many more. By far it was the absolute worst car I've ever owned, and costed me around, 10,000 dollars in repairs. I can say with confidence that I will never buy Dodge, or Chrysler, ever again.

Rear brakes rusted and broke in half and had barely been used and never changed in 4 years. But the front brakes have to have rotors and pads changed every 3 months. Why doesn't this car use the back brakes so we don't have to replace front so often.

I purchased this car in 2012 at the Dodge dealership in Marysville, WA. I was not told of a recall and have had the tires changed and brakes put on. Problem, when I went to have brakes put on again I was told the whole break system front and rear, calipers, pads and etc are shot and it will cost upwards of $1200.00 for repair. The mechanic said he has never seen this problem and in fact this should not happen. There is more wear on the rear than the front. How can I fix this problem or should I trade it in?
I am fed up to here with automobile companies and their deceptive practices and the way they steal the hard earned money from those who trust them enough to buy a car. Apparently, this was not disclosed at the time of purchase and there was nothing done with regard to making sure the braking system was properly maintained. I should have known, but then why would I even think that Dodge would rip me off!!

Never cared for Chrysler products. Like Fords. Always need a mini van. Now that Ford doesn't have on thought of trying Chrysler. BAD mistake!! Can't believe i have to change brakes so soon. My old Fords lasted a lot longer. Something is wrong brings back memories of my 95 Dodge Avenger using brakes every 25000 Km. Can't wait for the 2011 Ford explorer.

Having worked for a Chrysler company (STERLING TRUCKS) I am fully aware of the imported/foreign parts being used under the Daimler Chrysler umbrella. Chrysler closed our plant here in Canada and moved the plant to Mexico ...that should speak volumes.
Anyhow, being a father of four very active children and not having a job is trying enough, yet alone receiving a call today from my mechanic today stating that I needed to have my front and rear brakes replaced and being slapped with a $1100.00 CDN bill. From a simple oil change!?
My van was purchased in April of 2008. There is now 34,000km of easy driving on this van and it has been very well maintained. The reason why I purchased this van was because of the employee savings I could receive from Chrysler and for providing safety for my family due to our old van aging. At the time of purchase I did not know that the STERLING TRUCK plant was closing and moving to Mexico.
So here I am being slapped once by losing my job,and now again with a $1100.00 bill .....all compliments of Chrysler.
If Dr. Deiter does not hurry up and recall/resolve this brake issue promptly, I swear I will post a blog about the 2008 Dodge Caravan SE on every site you could imagine.
TRUST ME>>>WORD OF MOUTH IS THE MOST POWERFUL TOOL!!!
I wouldn't be surprised that the Chrysler corporation knew the economy was going to take a turn for the worse and thought, hey lets reduce the cost of Chrysler vehicles, put substandard parts in our vehicles that are not covered under warranty, and make up the difference on price through service charges!
Good luck getting quality out of Mexico..you get what you pay for!!!..I just found out!
I ENCOURAGE ALL OF YOU TO LET THE BLOGS BEGIN!!!

It has been almost two weeks that I can't drive my vehicle. Chrysler keeps saying that the parts are on back order. They refused to give me a courtesy car while I am waiting for the parts. This is very inconsiderate of Chrysler. The dealer informed me that there are many other clients with the same problem. Why hasn't Chrysler done a recall on this?

I do not understand why the NTSB has done nothing about this serious brake problems that is on all Dodge Grand Caravan from 2008 - 2017.
When is the NTSB going to make Dodge recall these Grand Caravans for defective brakes. This is a safety issue. Even the new 2016 have the same premature brake pads wear that will develop into the calipers getting stuck closed causing the discs to overheat. NTSB WHERE ARE YOU. When is the NTSB going to WAKE UP when we start seeing fatalities???
It is time to take some action folks. Enough with the COVER UP.. It is time to STOP buying Dodge and Chrysler Products. Let those minivan sit at the dealership.
