problem #1

Dec 012020

Grand Caravan

  • Automatic transmission
  • 200,000 miles

I had a dodge product that did the exact same thing...engine randomly turned off while driving, no useable codes to diagnose the problem

FINAL SOLUTION 2 YEARS LATER:

Some genius at dodge decided to put the onboard computer in the wheel well just below the a/c drip pan.

Over the years the drain tube clogged...the pan backed up and filled with condensation/water..taking a left turn or a bumpy road, water would spill out on the wiring harness and cause an ignition short. by the time the tow truck got there, it would be dry and the car would start normally again. Spent thousands of dollars unnecessarily replacing all kinds of parts trying to find the problem. the culprit was a $7 drain tube. I don't know if this helps any of you but if the same idiot at dodge designed your car as he did mine, check the a/c drip pan.
