Grand Caravan SXT 3.8L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 76,886 miles

Driver's window made a 'popping' sound inside the door when window was raised up. I did NOT mess with the window until I had obtained a replacement window regulator from on-line (e-bay). Brought it in to my mechanic for regulator replacement.

Service writer pulled my van into the bay and actually lowered the driver's window, as he seems to unconsciously always do, except now mine fell into the door! DUH!! I had been driving the van for 12 days without touching the window control (and we ALL know what a pain in the butt THAT is (fast food drive-through, mailbox, 'Hi neighbor' greeting, etc.) Luckily, window was not damaged when it fell into the door.

My mechanic said the cable on the regulator had snapped after one of the plastic clip assemblies holding the window broke. The new regulator had these plastic clip assemblies in it and the window works fine again.

This van is a lemon. Lots of small random issues. The dealership takes care of most, but who has the time and patience to hang out at a dealership all day.
