After placing shifting lever in park, stepping on the emergency brake I tried to remove ignition key and it would not come out. I doubled check to make sure I was placing in the off position. Placed shifter lever in various positions and then back into park and the key still would not come out. Sat there for about 5-10 minutes and then the key finally came out. Took to dealership and they could not duplicate issue but dealership lubricated the ignition cylinder and it seemed to help. Then it happened again about 6 months later and I again took to the same Dodge dealer (rockwall Dodge in rockwall tx 75189). They removed the ignition key and removed a spring or replaced a spring and stated this should fix it. However, over the last several months it is doing the same thing...ignition switch stuck. I am afraid someday I will not be able to turn engine off or get key out. Have others had this problem?

We bought our 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan new in April of 2010. Shortly after we bought it, I drove over a speed bump and the van engine shut off. This turned off the radio, power steering...everything electrical. I wrote it off to going over a speed bump too quickly. A few weeks later, the van shut down as I was driving about 40 mph down the road. I took it to the dealer and they said my key chain was too heavy. This made sense, so I removed keys. The problem still continued. To date, the van has shut down over 30 times and has been involved in one accident due to this issue. It has shut down while turning left into traffic, driving 60 mph down the expressway in the rain, driving slowly in a subdivision. There is no rhyme or reason as to when or why it shuts down. This is an unpredictable problem. Countless sensors have been replaced. Chrysler has sent the van to three different dealers to fix the problem. When the van shuts down, the engine turns off, the radio, heat/ac, power steering...everything shuts off. If I put the van in neutral and turn the key, the van will typically turn back on. On three occasions the van did not turn back on so I had to manipulate the van over to the side of the road (which is very difficult without power steering), put it in park, then restart it. Dodge is well aware of this problem, but they refuse to take the van back. They have attempted to fix the problem over a dozen times, with no luck. They told me that if I trade the van in, they will "fix it" and resell it. However they can not fix it for me, so how will they fix it for someone else? I am scared that my son who is 15 now learning to drive and he is learning on this van. Please take these vans off the road!!!

2010 Dodge Grand Caravan did not start. This has been an intermittent problem. It has been happening for approximately 1 year. Turn the key and all of the accessories work but starter clicks but will not turn the motor over. Took vehicle to the dealer on 4/30/2014 and was told the starter was bad and was replaced. Drove the vehicle to school that day to pick up child and vehicle did not start. After several tries it started. Drove to work later in the day, shut the vehicle down and tried to restart it and it would not start. Battery has been tested and is good. All signs point to a faulty win. After reading recalls about win wireless interface node modules, I, like several other people, have found that my vehicle does not fall under this recall, missing it by 3 months. Vehicle has been brought back to the dealer to try to get the vehicle to duplicate the problem. Contacted Chrysler/Dodge's 1 800 number and was told the complaint was going to be escalated to the next level because I have called them before about this issue. I now fear that it will shut down when I'm traveling or will not start when I need it to and be left stranded.

Bought vehicle used from a Dodge dealership in 2012, after several months engine shut off while driving on highway and then spontaneously restarted. This happened maybe once a month but then became more frequent until it is now almost a daily occurrence. When this occurs sometimes car will restart if you slightly turn the key towards start quick enough, otherwise you have to shift into neutral to have some control and then turn the key to restart (not fun or safe in traffic at highway speeds). This can happen while sitting in the driveway before moving or at any speed, bumpy roads especially bad. Once we realized what the problem was with the ignition switch/key I did some research and found the recall 11V-139 and determined that our van was built during the recall manufacture dates. Called Dodge 3 times, first two calls was told recall did not exist. On the 3rd call was told it did exist but my VIN was not included in recall. I asked to at least have the ignition scanned with the witech scan tool (as described in the instructions in the L25 recall notice sent to dealers) dealer to determine if it was a marquardt, siemens or Continental win module. I was told I could do this at my expense but even if the results showed it was a recalled ignition it would not be covered since my VIN was not in the recall. This situation is extremely dangerous and if it has not caused any deaths yet as with the current GM ignition problem it will. Something needs to be done. P.S. vehicle also has the transmission bearing noise problem and the leaky/noisy power steering problems that Dodge has described in service bulletins but has also not recalled.

Car would not start at grocery store, had towed and was told ignition module bad. Parts ordered Saturday afternoon and called back on Monday and told price would be double estimate. Auto body shop contacted dealer and was told know problem with the wind module/ignition and no longer made that lower price part. Now have to buy another module and 2 new remotes since old ones will no longer work with this module. Contacted Chrysler/Dodge and they said yes there were recalls on this item but not listed on my car/VIN #. asked why not and said had not reached my car, said need to file so it would help to include more cars. Now I have to put out over 700 to repair this know problem. Please help to get this fixed.

2010 Dodge Grand Caravan. Consumer writes in regards to vehicle ignition key problems. The consumer stated after a repair was made on the vehicle, the keys were extreme;Y snug and it was difficult to turn the ignition to the on position. In late December, the first key would not start the vehicle, but would un-lock it. On January 7, 2014, the second key failed in the same way. Again, the consumer had to pay hundreds of dollars to get a new key, as well as the first key, since it was defective and kept opening the rear door on its own.

In August the check engine light came on we took the van to local auto part stores to get a diagnosis but they were unable to get a reading. We then went to the local Dodge dealer to have it checked only to find out their diagnostic equipment was inoperable. That weekend the van would not start so we replaced the battery thinking this was the source of the check engine light. A couple of days later the light was back on. We went back to the dealer and were told that the totally integrated power module needed to be replaced and that it will cost $790 to repair. We went online to possibly find one cheaper and we did but apparently because of the high demand for this part it is on back order. Also the turn signals have had a slight malfunction for over 3 1/2 years. When you manually turn the signal off it continues to operate for another 5 seconds. I usually just. Ignore this but now wonder if it has some connection to the faulty tipm.

Van traveling at 70 mph and the horn goes off. Pulled over to the side of the road, turned ignition off and on, horn still activated. Had to pull two fuses for horn. 8 hours later, tried to re-install fuses, horn still activated. Three days later; horn is still not in operation. Numerous complaints have been made without resolve. The tipm is on back order and that is the part that needs to be replaced.

I cranked my van at work and started out of the parking lot. All of the electrical system completely went out. This includes the radio, air, inside lights, all of the dash panel electronics. Etc. This is the second time this has happened since I bought the vehicle on 6/19/13. I did take it to the local dealership and they stated that they would need for me to bring it up there the next time it happens and they would have to trace the problem.
