Family vehicle never "BEAT". Chrysler dealer told me trans is headed for catastrophic failure and replacement would be near $5,000. Compounding bearing is the cause of problem. found numerous complaints but chrysler will not help in anyway!

Had to get a completely new transmission! The mechanic said that the Chrysler company is aware of the faulty transmission problems for a bad manufacturer and that they switched manufacturers, but have not made this aware to consumers or done any recalls!

I had just gotten the vehicle from the dealer 3 1/2 months ago (end of October' 12) and it has less than 40000 miles on it. I pulled out of the driveway and went about 200 ft and it stopped moving and started smelling like a burnt clutch on a standard tranny, however this is an automatic, There was no idiot lights or dings indicating a problem. The dealership payed for the towing, however I also pray for them to replace it at no cost to me, since I am already paying $385.00 per month for the car payment. Is this year a lemon van?

I really do not think its fair the dealer does not want to pay for the rental car that costs 356.00.

Transmission starting making a light rubbing noise in reverse and first gear. Once the transmission shifted into 2nd, it was fine.. had it checked out by the transmission guy at the Dodge dealer, and was told it was fine. The next day, it would not move in reverse or drive. Was told they have to order a new transmission.. good thing it's under warranty!

I purchased my 2010 Grand Caravan May 11, 2011. It had 29,000 miles on it. I loved it! Now I can't feel safe when riding in it. We were coming home from vacation when it completely stopped moving. The engine was still running, but it wouldn't go. We took it to a dealership in WV, and they said my transmission's 5th gear was shattered. Then I found out the parts I needed to fix it were on back order. I called Chrysler customer service immediately and they said they would not reimburse for being stranded and having to leave the vehicle 300 miles from where we live to have it repaired. (I did get a hold of someone at HQ and they are repaying me every red cent for the inconvienience) Once we picked up the van we noticed some damages to the rear bumper that were not there when we dropped it off at the dealership. They said to send them pictures of the damage and they will work something out with a body shop up here. FINE. Then about 30 hours after we got our van back, it stopped moving again. Luckily I was in a parking lot when this happened, but I again called Chrysler HQ and left a nice lil message for them. I think I can lemon law this van can't I?

This van is the biggest POS! So many problems. I always have my mechanic maintain my vehicle and it is a money pit. This problem started with the transmission not shifting properly and down shifting at higher RPMs.
