Grand Caravan 3.6L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 133,750 miles

Running normally, then without warning, light or beep the engine die (shut off). No power steering or brake, I'm forcing the truck to stop on side of the road. Trying to restart the engine, it's turning but won't start (we can hear the fluid pump working)... I have to unplug the positive side of the battery for 10 seconds and then the truck will start. Very dangerous, you never know when it will happen. VERY DANGEROUS VEHICLE.

Grand Caravan LX 3.6L

Van is possessed! Wipers, dash lights and indicators, doors, windows, and A/C randomly function. Engine stalls while driving--no-start condition so needs towed. Dodge knows about the faulty TIPM but refuses to address.

So we have had a starting ignition problem for approximately 2 years...annoying, but this new one is dangerous. Without warning of any kind, the car engine cuts out, making every function very difficult to bring it to a safe stop on what ever small road, highway or interstate we are on. The problem is it does not leave any error code or indication of why for a mechanic to trace the source of the problem. Again, very random. Our mechanic drove it off and on for 6 weeks trying to make it happen...could not...a week after we retrieved and started driving it full time, it did it again. HELP!
