My vehicle was at jeff wyler Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep in batavia, Ohio for a week plus a few days. In all of that time that this vehicle was having its transmission issues diagnosed and inspected, the service department failed to address the open recall of NHTSA recall #17V-376, fca recall #T33 for the steering wheel wiring. The dealership knows about open recalls and, yet failed to perform the repairs on this vehicle. Instead, it allowed my vehicle to be towed from its lot back to my home address, despite knowing that it failed to address the recall. Dodge customer care representatives informed me of this recall while I was on the phone with them and still the dealership did not even make mention of this. They failed to repair the potentially dangerous or fatal issues with the vehicle and Dodge failed to ensure that the vehicle recall was completed during all of my conversations with Dodge and Dodge executive office personnel.

2011 Dodge Grand Caravan was being driven from las vegas to loma linda California down South I-15 near barstow California at 70 miles per hour around 2:30pm on a Monday afternoon April 15,2019. He was hit in the rear passenger side of the vehicle. Sent vehicle rolling down the highway and off the highway down an embankment into a fence. The vehicle came to rest on the drivers side. None of the airbags deployed! many of the windows were broken out. With the force of the rollover crash the front windshield was smashed in. None of the airbags deployed anywhere in the vehicle. The front drivers door was also broken at the door frame. My concern is that the airbags should have deployed due to the force of the roll over several time and down an embankment.

This vehicle has had multiple issues with premature brake pad wear. In fact, in October 2017, the vehicle had the following components replaced: Calipers (both front and both rear), rotors (both front and both rear), brake pads (both front and both rear) replaced by pep boys in eastgate, Ohio. It has only been just over 6 months and both front side brake pads have to be replaced, yet again! there is obviously something wrong with the engineering of this vehicle braking system and it has been reported on many consumer complaint sites and filed with Dodge/chrsyler and they refuse to acknowledge and repair the vehicles. The brake pads are wearing prematurely under normal driving conditions, no matter what type of weather is present. The brake pads will fail and result in serious or fatal accidents, if they have not already.

While driving through a roundabout at approximately 25 mph, the vehicle was hit on the right side rear sliding door by another vehicle. Two of my children were in the second row seats. The right side door was crushed and the glass was shattered and projected through the van to the left side. The side curtain air bags never deployed. The air bag light was not on, so there was no indication of a fault. This is a serious safety concern and should be addressed.

The van was parked in the driveway of our home. It was running, as my wife was warming it up in preparation for taking our children to school. My eldest son, age 7, was sitting in the third row seat closest to the passenger side window. When my wife closed the passenger front door, the side curtain airbags deployed. The vehicle was not involved in any collision, as it was stationary at the time of the deployment. And while my son did not receive any physical injuries, he continues to struggle with the fear and stress caused by the incident. The vehicle was towed to transitowne Dodge and inspected by both the dealer and by a Chrysler inspector. Via letter, I was informed that the company had no intentions of covering the costs of repair to the van, which are upwards of $6000. I have reached out to fca group repeatedly by have been met with dead ends and non-starters. I am filing this report to hopefully prevent others from a similar experience and the possibly of more severe injuries.

Airbag light is on constantly - never turns off. Seat belt light will sometimes come on even when seat belt is secure. Fuel pump doesn't stop running after engine is shut off. While driving, all lights will come on on dash and gauges/headlights will flicker then car will die. Has happened more than three(!) times at night on busy highway with 2 toddlers in car!!! had to pull off road in complete darkness. I am fearful of driving this car. I will not drive at night anymore.

My airbag light would come on and go off randomly. I took it back to my dealer and it was stated that it was an issue with in the wiring but not an issue with the airbag. Now my airbag light has been on for over a month. I checked recalls and see there is a recall on 2011-2012 Dodge Grand Caravan for the driver side airbag randomly deploying yet nothing for my VIN. I drive my children around in this vehicle and if the driver side or either side was to randomly deploy....this is a catastrophe waiting to happen!!!

Car was not able to start with clicking noise. Also fuel pump was still running long after car was turned off and exited. Problem was the tipm. This is a recall for other Dodge models that are 2011 yet it is not for my van. This is over a $1000 problem to have dealership change the tipm. Now my airbag light is on. I'm finding mass of people had this problem because of water intrusion in connection in engine compartment. How is this not a recall? that should be a water sealed connection to prevent airbag system shutting off. We were stationary, car running, light came on.

I purchased my 2011 Grand Caravan in July 2012 an have had several problems with it ever since. There have been multiple instances of the engine stalling while driving and/or my vehicle not starting. I have since troubleshot this down to the fuel pump relay being faulty in the tipm. I have also had issues of un-commanded opening and closing of the rear sliding doors while parked. I also get an random flicker of the airbag light on dash with audio tone. These issues were discussed with a mechanic at the local Dodge dealership when having a recall performed on the "misfire" issue. I was told that the software was updated and I should not have any more issues. That has definitely not been the case. One of the above mentioned issues occurs on a weekly if not daily basis. I do not feel safe putting my family in this vehicle!

Began with airbag light on panel coming on and random locking and unlocking of doors and dying while traveling at various speeds. All these happen wether the vehicle is in motion or not. Then it would only start using the remote starter and now it only starts when jumped by another running vehicle, even when the battery is fully charged(tested). It will simply crank and crank till battery is dead(about 10 minutes) unless it is connected to another running vehicle. It will start even if battery is close to dead then.

My van shut off in the middle of traffic on North roxboro road on the way to northern high school. I was protected until aaa came and towed my car to the dealer. I rented a car and I paid for the 1st week of the rental and the other week was cared for by the dealer. It is unknown what was wrong with the vehicle at this point in time. Once this happened, a few months later the car began to cut off at the gas station the day before my family was about to travel out of town. Once it cut off we had to drive another car that was not working well to our destination. Aaa jump started my van in order for me to get back to the dealership. The advised me that I needed a new battery, however the dealership I was told that if the battery was low and I received a jump start I should drive the car. I tried and turned around once again to the dealership. I waited 30 minutes before someone was able to push my van into the lot. My car was held most of the day and at the end of the day they told me I needed a battery. I called my husband to discuss the matter, he wanted to discuss the information with them and they were asking for a large amount of money to fix not only the battery, but the alternator as well. The alternator was not the problem I was told originally. I had only brought the car to their location. They wanted almost a $1000 to fix my van. I had aaa tow my van away, aaa brought me a new battery and they tested and found that the alternator was the main source of my problems. The last time my van shut off it had all of the lights on. The voltage light, the ABS brake lights, the oil lights, the air bag lights and the battery light. It has been in and out of commission. I had at least 3 incidences that involved my children and feel that our lives were at stake. I need to have a resolution in this matter without being required to buy a new plan. I feel cheated.
