Grand Caravan Mainstreet 3.6L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 31,000 miles

Bought used around 31,000 miles. When shifting from park to drive the transmission seems to slip with a mild jerk. We now have 68,000 on the van. So far nothing major.

Grand Caravan RT .3.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 75,000 miles

Since purchasing the van used with 45k miles in March of 2013 I occasionally get a loud bang and van shaking jolt when putting the gear selector into drive from park. This usually happens after a short drive (like to the store) then restarting the van and putting it into gear.

I have had it at the dealer 4 times for this same complaint but they can never seem to replicate the problem. (too convenient) They have flashed the system, and found the transmission fluid low 2 times but there are no leaks. I recently had a full service performed on the transmission and the problem still exist. Like others here I do not want to end up paying for a new transmission after the warranty runs out but I fear that's where I headed.

Has anyone found a fix to the problem?
