I purchased a 2012 Dodge Caravan and on July 1st of 2018 I was in the line at a drive thru and rolled down my window to place an order and then I could not roll it down, nor could I adjust my side mirrors, nor could I lock, or unlock my doors from the consul on drivers side. The passenger side failed about 3 days after. I was happy to know that the key fob worked just to unlock and lock doors. I went to 4 dealerships to only find out that the first three could not figure it out. They thought it was a fuse issue even though I told them that I had already changed the fuse and I checked all others myself. Just because I am girl they felt that I was stupid and did not know how to change or check a fuse. I went to Tomlin Knight and I explained it to them and they repaired the window wires and diagnosed the trac light they also did heat shrink crimp butt cdn blue. This did solve this issue for now.

I have had this van for a couple years now and had no problems at all until all this weird stuff started...Like the vehicle was possessed.
It first began when only certain buttons on the key-fob would work. Then the side doors and tailgate would open up randomly by themselves. I would wake up in the morning and doors would be open or come out from shopping and doors would be wide open. It was crazy and would just happen at random times, all by themselves. Then after a few weeks of that, it suddenly stopped doing it.
A couple weeks ago, suddenly the doors would not open at all with the pushing of any buttons, inside the car, or automatically by pulling the handle. You had to physically pull the doors open. The tailgate also wouldn't respond. Suddenly after one day, this problem stopped and the doors have opened just fine.
Today, my wife took my daughter to school, and the car suddenly wouldn't start. Turning of the key all lights come on, dome lights, radio, etc all work, but car does absolutely nothing to even attempt to start. Tried jumping the van. and nothing. It is just refusing to even turn over, click, or make any attempt to start.
I'm now reading online that this is a VERY frequent and common issue with this vehicle, concerning the TIPM, which sounds like the problem I'm having. It sounds like Dodge needs to step up, show some integrity, and fix this issue without gouging one person after the next!!!

2012 grand caravan bought brand new from raceway Chrysler shuts off completely during the drive
happened couple of times when I was driving at 70km speed, took the car to dealer and left it for a day and I got 300 $ charges but they said we cannot gurentee you and this model is not on recall, only 2008 to 2010 models are on recall for ignition switch. Really scared to drive with family and by myself.

The TIPM unit is not covered under the top drivetrain extended warranty. The dealership charged me $140 labor fee to track down the issue. My rear wiper no longer works and will cost $1300 to replace the TIPM, because it is not powering the rear wiper. I have seen multiple other TIPM complaints with Dodge/Chrylser vehicles.

Car started with random lights coming on like the air pressure light even after I just had the air pressure done at discount tire and the driver airbag light coming on for days then going off for days only to come back on again. Windows rolling down on their own and a/c and heat coming on on their own. Battery dying so had the battery, alternator, and started replaced each part done at different times thinking that was the problem. Been stranded many times cause of this with my two small children in the car.

TIPM is learning challenged and has disabled my door lock and my front wiper pump so no juice comes out. It will cost $1200 plus reprogramming to fix. This vehicle is less than 4 years old.

We've had this minivan for less than 2 months. The electrical has been acting weird on us for about the last 3 weeks.
First, we had a backlight to the trunk open button flicker intermittently. Next, the car would delay-start when I turn the ignition, but only a couple times that happened. Since last week, the real problems have started happening. A couple times, the dash lights would flick off and back on instantly while driving. On Saturday, I saw the car turn off while idling. That particular issue is now happening regularly.
On Sunday, the car cut out on me while I was going 75 MPH on I-70 in Kansas. Fortunately, it kicked back on and was running on battery. I pulled over, restarted the car, and it was fine again. Today, it's turning off at stop signs and in idle quite a bit. That's when I finally decided to research this issue. To my surprise, it is a very common issue...and even more to my surprise, there's no recall in spite of a class action lawsuit. All symptoms seem to point to the TIPM going bad.
I hope FCA gets their act together and soon. I can't afford the $1200 it would take to fix the problem.

PISSED OFF! Purchased this vehicle with two trade-ins (2000 Ford Windstar and a 2002 Chevy Malibu) plus $1500 down! I told the car salesman I needed a reliable car for a family of seven. My wife has disabilities, children ages 17, 12, nine, five and two have school, doctor appointments and other social events that we need to attend to. So, I have no time to purchase a car that continues to break down. The car salesman said, "here our vehicles are top notch, they (vehicles) go through a 10 Point Inspection". Which obliviously they (vehicles) don't because this is why I am so PISSED OFF.

Yesterday had problem with remote lock/unlock not working. Also light came on for low air pressure in tires. Noticed a slight miss when driving. This morning used "emergency" key to open door. Started normally but some message about remote start attempted or the like. Drove a bit further than a mile when a number of red warnings appeared when I stopped at a stop sign. Thinking it may have been a switch problem, turned the key off, then tried to restart, but no response. Pulled starter "key" out but got message that key was inserted--but it wasn't. Could not turn over, could not move gear shift, couldn't get any response. Car was completely dead.
Called AAA but they said they had a 10 minute wait time (my car was in the middle of the street at stop sign). Called the dealer who sold me the van (who are no longer Chrysler dealers) and they asked me a number of questions regarding my problem, none of which resulted in any possible fix. The dealer service manager offered to come to the scene but would be another 20 minutes. I thanked him, said I'd be here, hung up the phone and went out to wait. When I got to the car I thought I would again try the remote to lock the door while I waited in a local business for the dealer rep to arrive. The remote worked this time! Tried unlock when it locked, and IT worked too. Got in and--IT STARTED. Everything seemed to be working. Everything WAS working.
Called dealer, told him what had happened and drove to his dealership when he said he would have his technicians check It out. My guess is this is a computer glitch and by removing the key and allowing the computer to run through some automated sequence it reset itself. Cause? Being familiar with computers and electronics, sometimes there is no way to know, and only time and a restart is necessary. We will see.
