brakes, calipers, roters bad

I am 64 years old got this van to travel for my husband and I we are on a fixed income. This is not the first brakes we had put on it. Had them done at Precision Tune, that was in March last year and had them done June last year. Had to take it to have something done to the engine. I love the van. It's getting costly for us. Now we just had this 461 dollars brakes done. HELP!

Bought this van new on March 2013... barely 26,000km (16,155 miles) all brakes (pads and rotors) need changing at a cost of 1,200$. NEVER did I own a car with such premature brake wear. Incredible. I will never purchase another DODGE nor CHRYSLER product ever again. How is it that there is no recall for this? I'm noticing that same model for 1 or 2 yrs back a lot of owners are experiencing the same issue. Yet nothing is being done about it, other than complaints to this site. So Chrysler knows about this issue from years back but they keep building the same crap with no improvement from past complaints. Unreal!

Bought the van in April of 2013 and it's about 20 months old. Rear-driver caliper ceased so bad that my Rotor overheated and one of the pads cracked. Have to replace pads and rotors on both sides. Dealer is charging me about 550$ Canadian to fix. They told me that the rear-brake model is a "European model not designed for our climate and it can get quite dirty and cease". Warranty does not cover. Ridiculous.

Grand Caravan

  • Automatic transmission
  • 51,000 miles

I JUST PURCHASED THE VEHICLE LESS THAN A YEAR AGO AND ONLY HAVE 51K MILES ON THE VEHICLE AND THE REAR BRAKES ARE METAL TO METAL DUE TO CALIPER NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. FACTORY WARRANTY EXPIRED AT 36K MILES AND DEALERSHIP SAYS IT IS NOT COVERED WITHOUT EXTENDED WARRANTY. IT IS CLEAR THE PROBLEM EXISTED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED FOR IT TO BE IN THIS BAD OF A CONDITION NOW LESS THAN 11 MONTHS LATER.
