I had less than 600 miles on my new 2014 30th Anniversary Grand Caravan. I am starting to get a squeal that sounds like a bad bearing in the a/c fan motor. It is intermittent, and may not happen every day. Sometimes it does it going 45 mph, sometimes at 60 mph. As you can tell by the video I took, it will be awfully annoying on my upcoming road trip. Once we had thought the fan motor was burning, because we both smelled hot wires. It does not stop when you turn the fan down on the speed. It also does not stop when I hit the circulate button. That is supposed to shut off the outside air and just recirculate the air inside the vehicle. It does not matter whether you have the windshield or vents selected.
I took it into the dealer, the man at the counter thought the fan needed to be replaced also. I got my car back, and the technician did not change it, because he said nothing was wrong with the motor. The gentleman at the counter just shrugged his shoulders and said if it continues to bother me bring it back.
Update from Dec 17, 2014: I tried to prove that if the mechanic was right, then it is a vibration problem. I put masking tape in different places under the hood. Mostly around the plastic grill just under the windshield. It did cut the noise down, and I needed to go 65 with 45 mph winds to get a little whining sound. I covered most of the grill that supplies the inside air, I had an oil change due so I asked again to have them look at it. They ordered a new grill, and had it in 2 days. They installed it and it did kill the noise for the most part. Just today I heard a high pitch squeal as I drove on the Interstate with a 30 mph headwind. I will do more testing, when the snow stops and able to spend some time doing it.

Vehicle purchased new.
Fan squeal was noticeable and radio would not drown it out. Took to dealer who told me the fan was shot, or in the process of dying. Replaced under warranty.
New fan also made noise, just replaced again under warranty.
I really need to know what kind of garbage parts FCA makes!!!
I have had multiple issues with this vehicle since purchasing it new. I have emailed a complete list of them to FCA Canada Customer Care and the reply from them was "Too bad for you". My request was simply that they give me some consideration towards an extended warranty seeing as the vehicle and parts in the vehicle are obviously substandard in quality. They have refused. It is obvious Chrysler does not care at all about their customers knowing their product is garbage. I don't mind purchasing an extended warranty to cover this piece of garbage, but think Chrysler should pay half of that.
