Grand Caravan 30th Annivery 3.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 76,534 miles

I have owned my 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan since I bought it brand new. And up until now I have no major complaints. Now I change my oil every 5000 miles if not sooner every time. I ensure fluids are always topped off and not dirty. I have been a mechanic most of my life. So my wife is driving home from work and all of a sudden she got a large power surge several times while traveling on the Pennsylvania turnpike. She got off and within 2 miles the car lost all power and stopped moving. There is an extremely noticeable ticking coming from the top end of the motor now. I also just found out about the pentastar tick known with these 3.6l engines. I am currently trying to find out if the extended warranty from Chrysler for the ticks will cover it. But from I've seen they only cover 11-13 years and continued to use the bad engine until 2020. I WILL NEVER purchase another Chrysler product if this turns out to be true. And I will make it my personal mission to make sure everyone knows exactly how bad these motors are.
