CARAVAN HEATED UP TRANSMISSION FAILED ENGINE COOLED DOWN TRANSMISSION WORKED BUT AS SOON AS THE ENGINE HEATED UP TRANSMISSION FAILED AGAIN HAD TOWED

Four years of ownership, 54,000 miles of normal driving. The transmission starts to whine and fails the SAME DAY.. One year after the warranty ends.

Bought the car in Dec 2015 with about 55,000 miles on it, it had some clunking when changing gears but nothing major. Over next several months clunking got worse, until transmission simply failed in a supermarket parking lot. Car now has 90,000 miles on it and it is once again clunking occasionally when shifting, and occasional erratic behavior, positraction warning light, odd hesitations. I'm really afraid that it will fail again and i am now beyond the 5year ext power train warranty. Currently researching another rebuild with 3rd party Aamco or someone like that.

Looks like Dodge is known for transmission troubles with 2015 as one of the years but of course my vin number isn’t included in the recall, which is a bunch of crap as only certain months of that year are included in the recall.
