Door seized - IT will not open or close.
Chrysler knows this is faulty and I am expecting them to fix it.

Super annoying, glad I at least found that there's a class action lawsuit going for this! Went to unlock my rear driver door and the lock is stuck in the locked position. Definitely a safety issue and of course a huge inconvenience! (The door is manual.)

The vehicle had 37,000 miles on it when I bought it used January 7, 2020. Since the pandemic, I only drive it 12 miles to work and back three days a week, and 10 miles to get groceries once a week. It is parked the rest of the week. In July of this year, the driver's side sliding door would not operate or unlock, without warning. I took it to my mechanic, who found that the latch was jammed. He fixed the problem, charged me $287.00 and a couple days later, the buzzing noise started when I started the vehicle and again a block driving down the road. Then the door completely quit working again.
I took it back to my mechanic to replace the defective door motor, and he came back with an estimate of around $1200 to replace the electronic motor (over $500) plus the cost of labor. I am 66 years old and it is not like I overuse the door.
This is an ongoing problem with these vehicles that I was not aware of when I bought the van last year. The van looks like new inside and out. I feel that I was not informed of the problem before or after I made the purchase. I now worry about the doors locking me in or out because of this faulty motor that Dodge Motor Co. did not fix in the first place. What if the door opens when I am driving with a passenger in the back seat. This is a fatality waiting to happen.

Why is Chrysler only fixing the exact same sliding door problem only on 2016 caravans when the problem is occurring across many different years. Driver side sliding door is locked and will not open electronically or manually. This is a known problem covered by Technical Service Bulletin (TSB 10177524) for Dodge Caravan vehicles built on or after November 01, 2015 (MDH 1101XX) and on or before June 30, 2017 (MDH 0630XX). According to the VIN on my vehicle it was built 23 Sept 2017 and does not fall within the range of the TSB. Both the dealer and Chrysler Customer service refuses to repair the problem because my vehicle doesn't fall within the range of the TSB.
