During the course of driving van skips/slips then will start decreasing speed but then will pick back up. This happens on city streets or highways it does not matter. Started in July to present.

The contact owns a 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan. While driving 20 mph, the vehicle began to hesitate and the contact heard an abnormal noise. Also, when depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle failed to accelerate. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to napleton clermont Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram (located at 15859 fl-50, clermont, fl 34711, (888) 359-4237) where it was diagnosed with needing a new transmission and both cylinder heads needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failures continued. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer multiple times and the transmission was replaced two additional times, but the failures recurred. The dealer stated that they were unable to duplicate the failure during the last visits. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The failure mileage was 10,716.

The contact rented a 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan. The contact stated that the gear was in park. While the vehicle was idling, the contact stepped out of the vehicle. The vehicle shifted into reverse. As a result, the contact was struck by the front driver's door and dragged by the vehicle. The vehicle was stopped by an unknown person. The contact sustained leg, back, arm, and shoulder injuries that required medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that it was missing the lock between the park and reverse gate. The contact was advised to take the vehicle to a Dodge dealer. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 2,000. The consumer stated the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated the lock between the parking and reverse gate was missing. The vehicle was returned to the rental company.
