Transmission pump failure. Same issue as previously recalled models from 2013-2017. Transmission failed while driving. Vehicle will no longer shift. Vehicle is maintained properly and up to date on all other repairs/maintenance. Code pulled at mechanic is P1790. No response from Dodge. Any interaction is either ended by their representative disconnecting or rerouting me to a department that has no clue what to do.

I had the check engine light on for an unknown amount of time, as the initially lookover of the vehicle with the dealership advised it was a gascap sensor. However, they did attempt to fix by changing the sparkplugs when it was inspected June 2024 which didn't correct the issue. Since then, it has been looked at by 2 mechanic shops due to the following problem. When I drive at 40+ mph, the car starts shaking violently. When ran with diagnostic/ testing the engine, it was found that Cylinder 2 keeps misfiring/ has a pressure issue, even after replacing the spark plugs and the fuel injector. Even after replacing those components, the cylinder misfire, lowered compression, and the shaking while driving all still persisted. They suggested fixing the issue with replacing the entire engine and avoiding driving until then, as driving it could potentially cause the engine to stop working while driving/ cause an accident. The dealership advised the engine issue would fall under the powertrain. It is available for review, as I have avoided driving it since, due to worries that the car will either stop working while I drive it, or the engine could result in an accident.

The van has only 96,000 miles and should not have engine issues.

(multiple coils and spark plug replacements) mechanice made contact with a GM certified mechanic who indicated this is a common problem in the 3.6 engine used in these vehicles. Issue is deep within engine and requires complete engine replacement. It was explained to me that the engine could keep going as-is, or debris could begin breaking off inside the engine and cause total loss at any time. researched and found similar issue with 2012 engines.

This is a $5,000 repair. Not cheap at all for a $22,000 vehicle.

the vehicle has a permanent cylinder 2 misfire. the misfire has at times produced an unexpected change in the vehicle's acceleration which could be dangerous in certain traffic conditions. The vehicle has been inspected by an independent service center who determined that the source of the misfire is either a mechanical component inside the engine or part of the valve train. I have been told that this issue could result in sudden engine lockup during operation.

I had a check engine light come on for a misfire in cylinder 4. I replaced all the things needed to get this check engine light off and it still comes in for the same issue. My car is now currently at the dealer I purchased it feom so they can do further inspection. I decided to do some research online and found out that multiple people have been experiencing the same issue. I paid more then enough to try and get this issue resolved yet it still continues. I believe as well as others that this should be looked into as a possible recall of some sort due to multiple owners of the same vehicle having the same exact issue. I've also had my transmission replaced because after the light first came on a few days later the transmission went. A quick google search will show that there are thousands of people with the same exact issue. This is a manufacture defect and a safety concern. Pulling out into a busy roadway with this unresolved vehicle issue could potentially cause injury to myself, my wife, or my four children. Furthermore, any accident or injury to customers that purchased this product believing it to be a safe vehicle for their family would be negligence on Chrysler-??s part because this issue has been known. this Dodge Caravan has an engine problem with cylinder 2 misfire that has occurred in numerous vans with this motor. this van was purchased to aid my handicap wife and will no longer pass the Georgia Emissions Test required to purchase a valid tag. i have spent the normal repair dollars for the basic items suggested, however, everyone with this problem considers it a manufactures defect. Social media is full of owners with the same complaint. this problem seems to occur just after the factory warranty has expired, so dodge is not wanting to cover the expense. to have a 2019 model vehicle that can not pass the safety emission test is quite up setting to me. There needs to be a recall on this issue or an exempt status for this vehicle, since Dodge is not standing behind their product. By the way, my family has 2 of these exact vans, and both are failing in the same manner. this failure is not an isolated problem, and we as consumers need help to correct this deficiency. i have been struggling with this for over a year now
