I had the same problem as the others listed on this page exactly - shut off while driving, wouldn't start, cruise control light came on - it was doing this intermittently for months, and the problem was mechanics couldn't figure out what was wrong - in fact some refused to look at it because it was an intermittent problem - couldn't find out what was going wrong til it finally refused to start period and I had to get it towed in. Found out it was the crank sensor - I hope this helps anyone else who has this irritating problem in the future
