The fuel rail was repaired as part of a recall in 1998. The same part has failed again in the same fashion with the dangers involved.
- Gloucester, MA, USA
Under normal driving conditions the fuel line fitting failed at the point where the fuel line enters the fuel injection rail. The result was a large amount of sprayed gas all over the top of the engine. I was lucky that the engine was cold and that the gas did not ignite from the exhaust manifold or a spark from the alternator. I my opinion this should not happen under any circumstance. If this happend on a summer day the car would have been engulfed in flames in a matter of seconds. I feel that this was a serious enough defect that I am taking the time to fill out this form. The car is scheduled to be repaired tomorrow 3/8/01 so the part in question will be available if needed. The vehicle is at stevens Dodge in milford, ct (203) 876-6464 where the service is to be performed. You can contact me if you have any questions. Marc kavulich.

There is a crack in the fuel line and in the engine manifold which causes the gas to leak out of the vehicle from the fuel injector which spilled out on the top of the engine. Dealer replaced the fuel rail.

Fuel lines failed.
- Springfiel, TN, USA
All of the problems have been reported to the dealer, as well as the Chrysler corporation. The fuel line problem was corrected. The tie rods were corrected, but the problem recurred. The delearship claims they cannot reporduce the problem with the vehicle dying. Chrysler corporation would not offer asssistance with any of the problems. The dealership had the vehicle in for various problems 25 times in less than 3 years. I am unable to take the vehicle out of town at all, fof fear it is not safe to drive at highway speed.
