Intrepid 2.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 87,500 miles

I brought the car on Feb 4, 2008, and had no problems, 6 months later, I drove it to Milwaukee, and the next morning my Dad and I were going to Church, and the check engine light came on, it would not go past 20 miles, we left it, came back from Church to fix it, added tune-up in a bottle, and some more high-otane gas, it did start up and sound better, but check engine light kept coming on, stay another night in Milwaukee, too it to a mechanic and they told us it basically needed a new engine. So, if you see a good looking Dogde intrepid for Cheap, don't buy it!!! They have bad engines, as you can see from all the complaints!!! I pray that I have helped someone, and they will not go through this ordeal, like so many of us have!!! DON'T BUY A DODGE INTREPID ENGINE (2.7), WHAT EVER YOU DO, IF YOU NEED A NEW EVEN IN A DODGE INTREPID, GET ANY THING BESIDE A (2.7)!!! THEY ARE TRULY BAD!!! AND NO ONE WILL OWE UP TO IT!!!

The check engine light is on and the dealer has not been able to repair it. They suggest that the catalytic converter might be bad and after having it checked found that it was not bad. Currently the car in in the dealer's shop and not repaired. The dealer has kept the car for 3-5 days and has not been able to repair this problem. I like the dodge intrepid and had planned to purchase anohter one in 2008 but if the car cannot be repaired it is causing me to have second thoughts.
