I bought this car from an individual for 1500.00. It was a years worth of saving. On the way home the oil light was flickering so I called the guy back wanting a refund. He said no. A few days later the car started shaking really bad and then shut off. We left it off for about 30 minutes and it started up fine. A week later it did it again. The next day a terrible clanking noise was coming from the engine and we see coolant leaking from the top somewhere. We took it to a mechanic and he said the motor is bad and will have to be replaced. The cost? 4400.00! He said the car isn't worth putting that kind of money into. The outside and inside are very clean and nice but it's still not worth that kind of cash. I'm frustrated.

This is my daughters car which moved from home here in TN to Arkansas to work and go to school. She found this car at a used car lot and thought it was really cool and called and asked me about it and when she said it was super clean and only had 26,000 miles on it and I checked and the dealer was asking less than the book value, I went to the bank, got a loan and mailed her a check. She had the car about a month or so and drove home for a long weekend to show off her car to her friends. Well when the weekend was over she started back to Arkansas and made it about 100 of the 200 mile trip and the engine started knocking real loud. She called me on her cell and I could hear the knocking over the phone it was so loud. I told her to get it off the road ASAP until I could get there, but it died before she could pull off the road. I had to rent a toe dolly and pull it home and gave her my van so she could get back to AR. This was the last Sunday in Oct. and its almost Christmas and it still hasn't been fixed because no mechanic wants to work on this car. I have an uncle that's a mechanic and he agreed to help me. To start with a computer test showed a bad camshaft sencior, then I had to start taking it apart down to show the cams and valves. The lifters were collapsed on one side to the point the rockerarms were about to fly off we replaced all 12 lifters $16 each, put it back together and started it only to hear the same thing. I ended up having the car towed to his shop (which is in another town) to make it easier on him. We ordered the other 12 lifters for the right side and tomorrow he's gonna pull everything apart and make sure that's gonna be it. But from what I'm hearing from other mechanics and from searching online, I'm afraid we'll have to buy a timing chain kit ($300-$400) for it as well. So I figure I'm gonna end up with $300-$600 in labor and probably $300-$700 in parts. What pisses me off more than the problem because I know a new car can break or even all the B-S that we've been thru trying to figure this problem out and find someone that would work on it which if my uncle wasn't a mechanic I guess I'd have to go redneck and put it up on blocks in the yard but what really pisses me off is the fact that my daughter was stranded on the interstate at nite, just at the bad section of Jackson TN for over 2 hours while waiting for me to get there. What can I do to get all this money back. Dodge should be stepping up.

I had this nice looking junk for 2 years, after the 1st year the ticking started and the car started overheating. When I got to the mechanic I was told the 2.7 engine was gone, shot, dead, etc. I paid $2500. for another 2.7 engine which after 7 months was gone, shot, dead, etc. with the same damn problem as the other engine. The brass at Dodge/Chrysler should be ashamed and offer some type of recall on these things they have siting in driveways and repair shops. I can not afford another engine or car. I am a single parent in college and had to struggle to pay for the 1st engine. This is ridiculous and something should be done. When I saw and heard all the complaints about the same car and same problem I was somewhat shocked. They know this and just turn their heads and keep making junk. They should go belly up! I am really angry, annoyed, pissed off, tired, and had enough! Two years and two engines later and I still have no car.
