Basically just wanted to say that IF you have an oil light it might not be the end of the world. I know i thought that the engine is toast after reading all the complains, and i presume some people out there will "stop putting money into the car" if they know its gonna break down. In my case i had a faulty oil pressure sensor that i personally changed. Part: 10$. Labor: took me an hour as an amateur. I used a 1 1/16 inch long socket on bendable neck wrench. If i had to do it again i could in 15 min.

Intrepid LX 2.7L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 163,533 miles

I BOUGHT THE CAR ON FRIDAY 01/19 AND 7MILES FROM THE LOT THE OIL LIGHT COMES ON. I DID OIL CHANGE RIGHT WAY EVEN THOUGH I HAD 3000 MILES BEFORE I JUST WANTED TO STAY SAFE CUZ MA PREVIOUS CAR A 93 TOY CAMRY DID THE SAME THING AND BROKE DOWN ON HIGHWAY. AROUND 10PM THAT NIGHT CHECK ENGINE COMES ON AND AROUND 12:30AM NXT DAY, AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON AND GO AWAY. HEATING AND A/C IS EXCELLENT, ENGINE SOUNDS GREAT THOUGH. I FEEL BAD BECAUSE I NEVER SUPPORTED HOMELAND CARS AND SINCE FOREIGN DIDNT WORK FIRST TIME I THOUGHT HOME IS TO LOOK FOR. I AM THINKING MAYBE ELECTRICAL BUT THE EXHAUST HAS A LITTLE THICK THAN NORMAL SMOKE. AMERICAN ENGINEERS NEED TO GO TO HONDA JAPAN FOR 15YRS TRAINING
