Intrepid SE 2.7L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 39,000 miles

This is f*cking b.s. This car only has 39,000 miles on it. Is well maintained and I cant even figure out wtf is wrong with it. Chrysler you need to f*cking own up to these issues on these engines. Do the right thing and recall the damb engine and replace them with 3.5 engines. The reason the intrepid didn't do so well was because of this sh*t motor. I guarantee you this model would have easily outsold your newer chargers and 300's if you didn't cut corners and f*ck over your customers. I'm just wasting money on a pit, I spent over $600.00 to try and fix the problem with no success. Thanks alot Chrysler, may your company go out of business for good!

The stupid Intrepid would stall out when slowing down to a complete stop or even slowing down to a turn.

Intrepid 2.7L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 152,171 miles

My car stalled once at a stop light about a month ago. I didn't think anything about it. It started fine. Today it stalled on the way to school and took about 5 mins to get started. The car only stalls when the engine is cold (both times it has stalled have been within a mile of my house at the same stop light). It ran fine after it stalled and the mechanics I have talked to have no idea what the issue is. Gonna have fuel pump checked out just in case.

The oil light also comes on at stoplights but only when the engine is warm. it has been doing this for awhile now, and I am beginning to wonder if that has anything to do with it stalling.

Intrepid R/T 3.5L Magnum

  • Automatic transmission
  • 190,000 miles

I bought the car used in 2004 with 96,000 miles on it..great shape ,previous owner traded it in.It STILL a great highway car..steering is tight, cuts a turn on a dime, trans has no leaks or slip..could powerbrake a burnout too...ONLY if the engine code was gone.I've had it in and out of 3 dealers and 3 indie shops and NOT one of them can resolve it.Diagnostic time was adding up more than wrench time so I just let it go as is and just run it when I have to.The stalling out didn't occur till there was 155K miles. The oil gets changed religiously all wear and tear maintenance taken care of.I can run it 2 months or 2hours or 5 days...its gonna stall sometime.I gotta laugh at it sometimes and say its got a computer virus.Presently it has 190,000+ miles...no engine ticks doesn't burn oil...I'd hate to get rid of it over something thats got to be easily over looked somehow.Sure its a safety issue..frustrating.

Intrepid 2.8L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 132,000 miles

i bought a 2000 dodge intrepid for $250 from a friend car ran great. my car started dying when i came to a stop but not every time mostly if i pushed hard on the break or if i was sitting for a long time. the car would start right back up. also my car would jerk while driving on the freeway like three or four times would stop when i let off the gas. some times i had to pull over and come to a complete stop before my car would go again... i have many other problems i took it to crown motors and they said my computer cam isn't getting any signal it would cost over 300.00 to fing out if it was the wiring or if it was the sensor. i ended up crashing my car they totaled it out gave me 3000.00 i was mad.
