In cold weather you have to let the engine warm up at least 15 minutes before you can put it into reverse. The car dealer said that taking the steering apart probably would not fix it as all of the Intrepids on the lot did the same thing.

ok, so i bought this car with 150,000 miles on it. for $1,000. well, i had the car w/ an idle problem, and then one day the battery light came on and then nothin. lights dimmed and car didnt have any power. shows no oil, and has plenty, needs transmission fluid, but car needs an alternator, and i dont know what else. now it won't shift into drive although it does go in reverse. so aggravated with the whole thing! any ideas???

this could be a big problem.... i started to notice the problem a few weeks ago. When i go to back out of the driveway in reverse, then i shift to drive the car doesn't move.... after a 30 sec. or so it finally ingages and jerks and starts to move.
