2001 Dodge Intrepid ES, the vehicles gas tank will not accept gasoline easily, it takes the an excessive amount of time to fill the tank. The consumer will fill the tank and the fuel gauge still shows empty. After the consumer has put fuel in the tank some of the fuel will come out. The consumer has even replaced the gas cap, which did not fix the problem. The dealership told the consumer that they could replace the fuel control valve, the filler tube, and the leak detection pump filter at consumer's expense. The consumer was given a tsb number 14003-01 from universal underwriters service corporation phone no. 1-888-835-5063. The consumer has an extended warranty with U. U. S. C. policy no. V300191293 coverage which is called a comprehensive plan. Consumer was told that it was a manufacturer's defect, and was not covered under warranty. The U. U. S. C. did replace fuel level unit because it was not covered in the tsb, consumer has contacted the daimler Chrysler, the manufacturer told consumer that they were aware of the tsb, and that the consumer would have to have the repair fixed at her own expense. There have been no other known problems with the vehicle at this time. The manufacturer contacted the consumer and agree to replaced the fuel filler tube at no cost to the consumer.
