Intrepid SE 2.7L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 83,900 miles

Popping, clunking noise every time steering wheel is moved or car hits a pothole, stops or starts. The engine cradle mounts need to be replaced and at over $35 apiece, 4 lower, 4 upper ($300 w tax +$400 to install) + $1500 to attempt engine fix, this car is not worth it. Transmission mount has also failed and this is another $200. All on a vehicle worth about $1500 trade in perfect working order.

Cradle mounts should not fail on a car with this few miles, granted this is Michigan where the roads are terrible. I've considered using hockey pucks for the uppers, but between this and the other issues, this car is going to have to go; at considerable financial loss. To add to this, I'm unemployed and will still need to pony up more cash to buy another used car. Employers demand reliable transportation and the Intrepid is not going to do it.
