There isn't words to describe how this Tragedy impacted my life. To this day, a year and 25 days later, I still do not have transportation.

I NEVER expected my 2003 Dodge Intrepid 2.7L V6 motor would become engulfed in Flames while driving home on Interstate 40 East. The gas pedal made a noise and then the car lost ALL power, barley got it onto the shoulder. Ran it up the embankment when I heard the tires blowing on the front of the car, the plastic around the front melted onto the concert. What kills me the most is that I did Not carry Full Coverage on this vehicle.

I did not have any problems with this vehicle, I kept the oil change, fluids were checked once a week, I didn't have to replace any parts on my Intrepid, just break changes were changed as needed as well as the tires. This vehicle always passed North Carolina Inspections. I NEVER thought my 2003 Dodge Intrepid 2.7L engine would catch on fire. There were only minor scratches and dings from parking in parting lots from other vehicles and even then I managed to get most of their paint off my beautiful Snow White car.

I loved my car, she drove like a bird in flight, smooth and peaceful until that day when I lost her. I was the Second Owner of this vehicle, the ONLY possession I asked for in my Divorce after 14 years of marriage. I gave him the house, the dog and I left with my car, that is all I wanted. I am disabled and have NO way to save enough money to purchase transportation for myself and my two oldest Granddaughter's. We have been basically Home-bound for a year and 25 days.

I feel very Guilty because I was talked out of putting full coverage insurance on my vehicle because of the age it was, so I believed and trusted the advice of the person on the phone at the time I insured the vehicle in my name due to the Divorce. I feel this person had a way of knowing this vehicle had engine problems and it was flagged to talk people out of full coverage insurance so they didn't have to pay us Poor people recovery money so I could have transportation. My PCP tells me during my office visits that I am still Grieving the Loss of my car and I am, it was all I had, it is very hard on me to get public transportation to and from my Doctor's appointments. To get public transportation for my Girl's office visits and they can never miss the Bus because I have No way to get to the school. They can not participate in after school activities or any activities because I can not get them home.

I am crying so hard I can not see to type any longer. The loss of my car has totally devastated my life at the age of 52 yeas old. I cannot work therefore I can't buy my girl's and myself transportation. I earn less then $9,000.00 a year raising my two girl's and taking care of myself but I do it without any funds for my girl's. They are suffering because my 2003 Dodge Intrepid 2.7L V6 car was a total loss to an Engine Fire, I was told by the Firemen that gave me a piece of paper with my case number on it that he has seen many of these 2.7L 's just like this, that this motor was the worse motor Dodge Chrysler Ever Made. Please pray for my transportation needs to be met.

We should have traded the Intrepid when it required a complete transmission rebuild just out of warranty with 40K miles. Now with 70K my wife was driving and heard clicking from under the dash followed by a loss of power, pull over to the side of the road. Huge plume of smoke was coming from under the hood and she felt the heat of the fire as she got out of the car, as she move to a safe location the tires and glass popped as the car became engulfed in flames within seconds. She was lucky to get out... The fire department arrived 3 minutes after she placed the 911 call from her cell as she ran for cover and all that remains is the metal frame of a completely melted car... all belongings, interior, tires burnt and gone; only blacked steel remains... total loss. This was our last Dodge.
