Definitely an and thanks to you tube I found a fix which was reasonable for the year, I was able to replace by removing the aluminum pipes form the heater core and reattaching to a new core with out having to remove the whole dash. I think part of the issue is the blend door actuator as well and the control

Ok I've been a master tech for vw Nissan and Mitsubishi for 35 years. My wife bought the Dodge Journey in November of 2008 and since then we are now on the 4th heater core they seem to last some ware between 16000 miles and 18000 miles everyone that has this issue needs to contact the auto safety department. File a formal complaint against the dodge corporation for junk heater core and or bad placement were it hold sentiment inside of the core and plugs it shut one the inside of the core. If no one complains it won't get fixed. This should be a safety issue in the cold states no defroster on the passanger side and you also freezes anyone ridding in the car.

I purchased my 2009 Dodge Journey on June 14, 2014. The Journey has never had heat. When I did go to try and use the heater in September 2014, the heater only blew out either very lukewarm air or cool air. Only the driver side puts a little hot air out! I was sure my warranty would cover this. After taking the car in and paying them $100, they say this not covered!!! The fix for this is 1k at the dealer!!!!

I currently own a 2009 Dodge Journey, the driver side master power switch stopped working. The entire power switch is not inoperable. The driver side mirrors, car locks currently are not working but the back windows are working. The driver side heat vent blows cold air while the driver side blows hot air.

I currently am awaiting supplies for a current recall so begin to research these two concerns. I find that over 46, 500 people have experienced the master power switch suddenly becoming inoperable with a previous recall correcting this issue. I contacted Chrysler to inquire about getting this recall done while placing my car in the shop for the current outstanding recall. I was told that my car was made two months after the recall period meaning that I would have to pay for those repairs out of pocket. I asked the customer service representative if he could tell me if the recall was extended to cars made after the close of the recall and I was told that a supervisor would have to research this and get back to me.

This is the 5th day and I decided to file a complaint because both the issues that I am experiencing with my Dodge Journey were recall notices that does not extend to the time period my car was made. I would like to say that the 2009 Dodge Journey has the most recalls of all Journeys and over 948,000 complaints.

1. How does Chrysler/Dodge determine the year up to the month that a car might become affected by the problem? 2. How does Chrysler/Dodge determine that additional cars may not be also affected by the problem? 3. I am requesting that Dodge revisit the timeline for both recalls due to the outstanding complaints hosted on Dodge Forums for recall notices and problems that other Dodge Journey owners are experiencing.

If the problems are identical why are the cars not being repaired as part of the existing recalls?
