omg- this was horrible this is third time brake pads /rotors replaced. but this time calipers,brake hoses everything----all way around car 4 corners!!! im warning people do not buy dodge journey..HAPPY WITH THE CAR EVERY OTHER ASPECT. I AM 61,DISABLED LIVING ON SSDI---AND THIS COST NEARLY KILLED ME--BILLS GO UNPAID, NO GROCERIES--- JESUS I LOST 10 POUNDS THOUGH!!! BROKE MY BANK ACCOUNT. GOD I COULD ONLY HOPE CHRYSLER/DODGE COULD RE-IMBURSE SOME OF THIS HORRIFIC COST.

More than a lemon, this car is a grapefruit! The brake system is constantly bothering. After I changed all the parts, the parts have to be replaced after two weeks or less. It is like an unfaithful person. It gives me chills to touch it. You never know when it is going to let you down. Hope and pray every day when I get in it to go to work.

We have had to previously have brakes and/or rotors either replaced or resurfaced. With all of the complaints we have seen online, Dodge should have done a recall by now.

Complete front brake job at 37,991 miles. No indicator that pads were worn...no squeal, no notice on dash system alert. Not only were pads completey worn, rotors were too deeply scored to be turned and had to be replaced. Never had another vehicle that needed a complete brake replacement at such incredibly low mileage.

Complete rear brake replacement at 51,000 miles. In addition, shop advised that inside pad was worn down to 1% while outside pad was at 50%, indicating potential issue with calipers locking up (caliper replacement estimate of $400.00). Chrysler/Dodge has been aware of the premature wearing of brakes on this vehicle since mid 2009, and has yet to take any action to resolve. Brakes are inadequate for the size/weight of the vehicle, causing the premature wear...and could easily result in accidents or even deaths. This issue should be resolved for all Journey vehicles with a recall and replacement of the brakes.

When I got the car I asked if its safe for me and my 4 year old. They assured me yes. Got the Journey in Nov 3, 2014. March 30, 2015 the brakes failed out of no where. Lost control of the car. Hit a car beside me and rolling backwards, hit a fence. Took out 4 wooden fence posts. This happened the day I was on my way picking up a friend to go with me to the dealership for my first oil change. Never made it to the appointment.
I got injured and I have many medical issues. Now even more pain on top of my chronic pain. Anxiety went out of the roof. Thank Gosh my child was not in the car. Not impressed due to this my insurance told me this default out of my control will effect my insurance and it will rise bullshit. I'm consulting a lawyer why did Dodge not recall these cars. I missed a friends funeral due to this I was told if the brakes went later that day on the highway on the mountains, I most likely would of died.
Dodge should be recalling these cars. They're a death trap. Now I'm car-less. Insurance is taking forever. I have no way to get my meds, specialist's appt., physio therapy, food. I can't walk more then 2 blocks with out my knees failing and falling down with my child. This is all bullshit it only has a min warranty. They expect me to pay for this defect.

This is the third time for me to have to have had to replace the front brakes and the the first for the rotors, I've also have done the rear brakes three times and the rotors once and I've only had the car a little more then 18 months. I bought the Journey used on December 27th 2014 and it's been nothing but a headache every since I bought it. If I wasn't in over my head with it I would of been of gotten rid of it. The only reason I still have it is because I got it when I had a accident and I still owed on my last car and that money was added onto this car so I owe much more then this car is worth and I'm disabled and on a fixed income. So they have me in a fix and I can't do anything. I have a lemon and there's nothing I can do about it but suffer, I will probably end up still paying for a car while its sitting in the junkyard some where. I have a seven year lease on it before it is paid off. The good thing is I do have gap insurance.
