Sustained a non-reparable tire damage while on road trip away from home. Emergency tire installed by road service. Went to nearest Sears auto for new tire, found none in stock because they did not consider the tire popular. Had to pre pay for tire and must wait approximately a week for delivery of tire. Wife is disabled and does not trust the skinny spare tire, so we are without transportation until the tire is delivered to Sears. Will have to drive over 90 miles to have tire installed. No one is willing to help this customer, and "pass the buck" for my situation to the next guy without concern to my inconvenience due to their neglect. This tire is the only tire authorized to be installed on this car that will not void the vehicle's "Lifetime Warranty."
This is exactly why the American automobile industry is failing against foreign models. There will be no more American made cars purchased by this household, and I will attempt to let as many people as I can know of the poor treatment received from the car dealer, service provider, and tire company. Furthermore, I will seek whatever legal recourse available to me to address my maltreatment in this situation.

I cant complain about getting 100,000 kms from a set of tires, but what should I do now? According to a local tire shop only two tire manufacturers make 225/55/R19 tires, Khumo, and Toyo. They tell me that ther are none in warehouse in North America, and tires they have requested have been on backorder for 3 months with date of delivery unknown. They also inform me that if they could get them, they would be $385.00 each plus taxes. Thats highway robbery. The closest size they can get for me that will still work are over $250.00 each. My questions are 1) Who is the stinkin IDIOT that designs a car with obsolete tires? and 2) How in Gods name could they cost so DAMN much.

Took it in to get brakes checked and were told the front tires needed replaced. Only problem is no one has the tires. So instead of 2 new tires, we have to change size and buy 4 new tires. What should be a $400 fix is now $800. Will never buy a dodge again after all the problems we have had with this Journey. Looking to trade it in already after only 2 years.

How in the world are you even allowed to sell a vehicle that you can't get a replacement tire for? My son can not get a tire for his Journry. In this day and age that is completely unacceptable as well as ridiculous. That vehicle was part of his buy out. That means he got it for notrhing which is exactly what it is worth. He has had nothing but trouble from day one. He should have traded it for a Ford like I told him to do. All they could do is put that little doughnut tire on his car and now they have to wait for a tire to be shipped. You guys should be ashamed of yourselves

Seriously...Dodge puts rims on their car that only ONE manufacturer in the entire world makes tires to fit...and they refuse to honor warranty even though 3 of 4 tires had major separation at only 16K miles!! And to top it all, there are no 225/55r-19 tires available in the entire US! Options are limited - change size of tire or buy new rims in different size and tires...both exceedingly expensive options. Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep has lost my business permanently...next car (in 2012) will be a Toyota or Honda unless Dodge wants to reimburse me for THEIR decision to put this rim on their cars.

Tires worn out in less than 2 years and only one supplier (Khumo) makes that size. Looking into replacing with different sized tire. Wife is driving around with bald tires until we can find a replacement.

Who in the world decided to put a 19" tire on this car. They are bigger then my husbands truck tires and VERY expensive to replace.
They wore out sooner then I would have expected, but not too concerned about that! it was when I was to get new ones that the problems start. NO ONE! had them in stock and could not get them for weeks...plus each tire was 400-600 dollars. I found one place that could get me the Kumo replacements (which he said are not good tires) for 202 each plus I would have to special order any of them.
I decided to order new wheels 17" and new better tires for cheeper, plus in the future I will not have to worry about special ordering expensive tires.

There is no availability of 225/55r-19 tires in north america until february 2011! The only supplier of the 225/55R-19 is Kumho Tires. No other manufacturer is making these apparently. I have close to 60,000km on my tires and with winter approaching, I am looking to get either winter or all-seasons. None. None at my Dodge dealership none at their supplier, none at the Kumho warehouse in Ontario. None in North America!
It was suggested I change rims to the 16". At $ 1,400.00!! WTF Who is in charge of inventory control? Who is expediting the orders with Kumho? The tires are crap also! After 60,000 I need to replace them. Thats BS!

Had several tire issues with this car, no availability of Kumho tires. Researched and found Pirelli Scorpion Verde, 235-50-19. Much better tires overall. Less road noise, better wet traction, easy to replace since they are available everywhere. (Tirerack.com)
