FIAT, YOU ARE FULLY AWARE THAT ALL OF 2009 DODGE JOURNEY'S HAVE VERY EXTENSIVE PROBLEMS. WHY HAVE YOU NOT RECALLED THEM ALL. YOU CONTINUE TO SEND OUT RECALL NOTICES. I WISH I COULD DRIVE THIS CAR OFF A CLIFF. THE TRADE IN VALUE IS WORTHLESS. OF COURSE KNOW ONE CARES ABOUT THE BLUE COLLAR WORKING CLASS THAT PUTS EVERYTHING THEY HAVE TO MAKE ENDS MEET.

Front door windows and side mirrors stopped working while engine running. Worked in Accessory mode but not while driving.

A pain in the ass when, as an example, drove up to a parking ticket dispenser. Would have to shut engine off or open the door with engine running to get a ticket, same to pay at booth.

Two people operate this vehicle. Could not adjust side mirrors while driving to get best possible view. One driver big, one small so side mirrors must always be adjusted when changing. Could be dangerous when mirror cannot be adjusted.

My issue with this problem started not too long after I purchased the vehicle, new. The thing that bothers me most about it is, it was already supposed to have been fixed because it was part of a recall in the past but the problem is still there. What am I supposed to do now?

Journey LX V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 9,000 miles

Drivers side window controls work intermittently. Soon after purchase, new, drivers side window controls stopped working. Dealership had me "reset computer" by holding switch up for 5 sec. This worked a couple of times. Then had "module" reprogramed at dealership. then had module replaced under warranty. Then had battery disconnected for 5 minutes, "rests system." Then pulled fuse to unit. All of the above have worked for a "period of time." Then problem recurrs. Mechanics now say wiring harness bad and needs to be replaced for 600 bucks. Problem started prior to warranty running out, now no warranty.

My concern is that even after this is done problem will recurr.

Dodge has a "recall" for this exact problem, but my car was manufactured 3 months after this ended. Mechanic thinks they may have grabbed an old harness when assembling mine???

Any suggestions????????????

Thanks Brian

totally pised off that the drivers side window stopped working at 19000 kms. Had to have the circuit board totally rebuilt because my mechanic found there to be excessive load on the switch . You don't expect these kinds of problems with a vehicle that you buy as used with only 14000 kms on it....Its currently low mileage but has no warrantee left because it is a 2009. So sh*t out of luck on any of the repairs.....Just piss poor build quality in my opinion!

Sometimes the windows roll up, sometimes they roll up part-way and sometimes they begin to roll up and then roll down. Since it is an intermittent problem, the dealership can't find the problem to fix it. Very irritating.

My beef is this seems to be a problem with most of these dodge journeys and there's no recall.

My back driver side window stopped working, same problem as my front window. We were in Florida, leaving for Canada within a couple of days and had to have the window blocked. I will have it repaired shortly. This is the second window to have this problem and I cringe every time the two remaining working windows are going down.

Another problem with the Journey, not looking good for this vehicle. Passenger window would not go up. Not good. Awful to have a new car and have so many problems. Material in the seats are terrible also.
