Journey SXT 3.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 18,812 miles

I'm retired (and therefore of some advanced age), and live in a cold weather state. Either way, I seldom use the A/C on my vehicles. Less than five years after I bought a brand-new Dodge Journey SXT (at 18,800 miles), I went to use the air conditioner in June 2015, and it only blew hot air. Took it to my mechanic, who evacuated and recharged with R134A and the problem was solved for the remainder of the summer months. Then, in May 2016, I tried to use it again, and no cold air to be found. Took it back to my mechanic, and said the condenser is shot! In my time, I've owned a lot of cars, and many of those I had for 12 to 18 years, and never have I even had to have the a/c system recharged, let alone replace major components, like I'm experiencing with this particular vehicle.

Journey EST V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 5,000 miles

I purchased this vehicle in February 2010. Each summer I have taken it into the dealer because the A/C does not blow cold air. I live in Michigan so we get only 3 months of warm weather (if we are lucky) but when we have it, I would like to arrive to my destinations without sweat marks across my stomach and down my back! Each time I have taken the vehicle in to the dealer they tell me nothing is wrong with the A/C. Really? Why is it that I have it on the highest setting, blowing the coldest it will go for over 25 minutes and I still arrive with sweat marks? I don't live in Arizona where it's 100 degrees during the summer months! We are lucky to hit 85. And now, with the unseasonably warm spring we are already having, I am already experiencing the A/C problem again. Today I drove for nearly an hour with the A/C on max and I never got cold. Now the vehicle isn't under warranty but I am enraged and someone is going to need to fix this. Last year when I took it to the dealer they said they plugged in the unit and it was blowing at 36 degrees. RIGHT!!! Oh, and did I mention the only reason I bought a new vehicle and suffer each month with a car payment is because my previous vehicle didn't have air and I was tired of being sweaty and hot when I drove. Nice! I will not buy a Dodge again!

Journey SXT 3.5L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 9,800 miles

At first I liked the car but at about 3,500 miles the key had to be replaced it had quit working. I have had both license plate bulbs replaced and the brake light also all the 12 volt outlets stopped working. Now the newest problem I have had is the a/c and the transmission. The a/c does not get cold and the fan only works when it wants to, the transmission accelerates on it own and has no power to shift between 40 and 60 mph. I have had both problems serviced and they had reset the fan and the transmission and told me the problem was fixed. I drive this car everyday and the problems are still there. I will be making an appointment to have a second look. I will never buy I dodge product again .
