We traded a 2012 Kia Soul that we bought new still under full warranty, we just needed something with more room & our payments lower. We were told that this Dodge Journey was a great vehicle, we took them @ their word.
Three days later when we turned on the A/C we started smelling hot wire burning and the vehicle would make a rough noise so we turned the a/c off we went back to the dealer. Brenda Stafford, the one who sold the journey to us, told us to take it to the service dep., they would fix it for us, that it should not be doing that & that it wouldn't cost us anything. So we did that just to be told it would cost us $800.00 to fix the A/C. I think that with only 33510 miles on this vehicle everything should work and you should never smell anything burning. They sold me a vehicle that is no good, has been nothing but trouble ever since we drove the car off the lot.
So now my credit will be screwed over this lemon of a vehicle. AC isn't the only thing, that was just the first thing that went wrong & no one will make it right in anyway. The next thing was got in it & wouldn't start, we couldn't find the battery, had to go to the dealer just to find out where the stupid battery is so we got that fixed even though a battery should last longer than 42000 miles. The transmission is slipping & now it won't start because it says bad key. Again, dealer says nothing they will do unless we pay. We are on disability, can't afford all these stupid repairs on this vehicle after only having it for 4 months. I have had vehicles that were 15 years old that was 100% better & safer than this 2010 Dodge Journey.
